Male Fertility

Help needed on this. The question is does my partner have a fertility problem (sperm count).

We havent been able to conceive in a year, I always thought it was me... as I had a suspected polyp in my ultrasound in Feb09, in an ulstrasound recently they couldnt see anything as big as before. Also people that have polyp's have miscarrages and I have never had one, Im not saying it isnt me, I might have something wrong with my hormones, but it could be both of us. My partner is convinced it isnt him, but that could just be a male ego thing.

I am Jupiter (1st), my partner is Mercury (7th) and his health is Mars (12th).

Mercury's next aspect is to square Mars, so I think the answer is Yes, he does have a fertility problem.

My health is Venus (6th) and trapped in the (8th), anyone know what this means...

I finally have another appointment for the 18Sept with a fertility specialist, I have had ones before but it has never worked out for one reason or another, the last one the Dr's office told me on the day of the appointment that she doesnt do fertility anymore!

Just a thought ... for fertility shouldn't we refer to the 5th house ?

In that case your 5th houses (both) are intercepted ! I see the moon in the 11th house (partner's 5th) ... you are concerned about his fertility. Your 5th ruler Jupiter is Rx and his 5th ruler Mercury has passed a conjunction with Saturn ... Mercury is gaining strength in its own house. I also see Uranus in your 5th (Uranus is usually not considered in horary). But the presence of Uranus means sudden changes and I am tempted to consider it in this case. But Uranus is Rx too. I feel this is not the right time. Please wait till Jupiter and Uranus go direct. Take care.

It does look like a horrible horary chart, with all those crosses and squares and the intercepted house I didnt even see, its quiet what I feel about the moment about conceiving, I am been working on working out what is wrong with us conceiving and I keep on going around in circles and there has been no help from anyone in the medical field. Ahhh...

I wasnt sure what house to use, both the 5th and 6th are not good.

Oh well, I will take your advice and wait until Jupiter and Uranus go direct, do you mean to do another horary or do you mean to hopefully conceive successfully after these transits???

Each horary is valid for 3 months. And by that time the planets will be direct. Donot stress yourselves during this time just wait and see. Uranus brings sudden changes ... hope things work out for you.

I would think there is some validity to the question of his fertility. Mars, the planet of male potency (and male genitalia), sits in his own term but afflicted by a square to his sign ruler, Mercury. The 7th house is also traditionally the house of the reproductive organs. Both Mars and Mercury are in late degrees; both are about to change into signs where they lose strength. Mercury will lose the dignity of domicile and Mars is about to enter the sign of his fall.

The Moon is currently Void in Venus' sign and cannot help the matter, although the chart benefits from the Moon casting a favourable aspect to the ASC/DSC. Uranus, as noted elsewhere, sits on the cusp of the 5th of childbearing, indicating erratic and unstable conditions; perhaps a condition that fluctuates (sperm levels changing?) since both Mars and Mercury are in mutable signs.

Have you tried acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine? Acupuncture is used here in England to treat infertility (male AND female) with rather high success rates. There's a famous acupuncture clinic in Harley Street that only does fertility. I would suggest that both you and your partner be seen, if you choose this route; it will ensure that both your energies are balanced correctly...and it's cheaper than fertility treatments (and less invasive, too!).

Good luck!

AG, can you let me know what happens when the Mars/Mercury move into houses such as these?

We havent tried any complementary therapy, or anything other than the traditional methods of conceiving.

I was thinking about Traditional Chinese Medicine last night, thinking that they have used it fo thousands of year's so I should give it a go, but just lately on TV here is Australia we had a case where the parents of a young baby treated her with Homoepathy and the baby eventually died because it didnt fix the problem.

Then there is acupuncture, and I have tried this once before for anxiety and it didnt work for me.

Then there is the thing that the costs and time will add up if we are going to try all other methods other than ART, and if they dont work we will need to go to ART anyway. So thats more cost.

I have been reading a lot of books lately of people's path with infertility, and it takes them years and years. Maybe the best choice is to get the IVF over and done with, even though its expensive, it will save me time and I will get a baby in my arms sooner, and then be able to try another one in 2 years.

I found a clinic that does IVF for $1500 (a cycle), I see them on the 18th, so I am hoping that I havent misread anything about their costs. I could have one cycle now and maybe one early next year if it doesnt work.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is NOT the same thing as homeopathy! Homeopathy is very much a placebo, IMO...and I would never use it on a baby without first consulting a physician for treatments that way. But I've used TCM for a number of different issues, and I used it with huge success on my son's skin problem, when absolutely nothing else made any difference to him. So I am a big fan, but it's not for everyone. I would certainly think it's worth a try.

You said you used acupuncture 'once' for anxiety...did you mean 'just the once', or that you had a series of treatments? Keep in mind, any complementary therapy will usually take longer than Western medicine because it addresses the underlying problems instead of just the symptom. $1500 would buy a lot of treatments/herbs, and you may not have to have people poking at your respective bits...but this is really a personal choice, after all. :)

can you let me know what happens when the Mars/Mercury move into houses such as these?
Well, it's not so much moving into houses, as moving into signs. Mars, the planet of potency, is moving to the sign of its fall, where it is weakened; and Mercury is leaving the sign of his dignity and moving into Libra, where he has less dignity...all of this points to your husband's potency diminishing in the near future, or, at the least, with the Moon being unaspected, the potency not improving much. There may be underlying issues, which can be tackled (no pun intended) from several different angles: environmental, or the type of clothing he wears; or nutritional, etc...or from a TCM point of view, where he clearly would have a Yin/Yang imbalance.

Ok, so his sperm isnt getting any better, to be honest we took a test at the start of the year, it was 13 and our GP said that there isnt a problem, so I didnt worry, then in all the books I was reading in the last couple of night, some guy had a reading of 15 and the dr was really worried and said that he might not be able to conceive naturally. I went online and saw that it really needs to be over 20. I dont know what out GP was going on about, this confirms why I dont like GP's. When I go to the FS, they should be checking his sperm again, so I can see if it has gone up or gone down. As per this horary it might have gone down more .

The acupuncture was only the once, I really didnt give it a good shot. There is a place in my local shopping center where I live now, I might give it ago in a week for the rest of the year and see what happens.

I read that taking Complex B and Vitamin C will help sperm count and Mr Denial doesnt want to take any. So, I might try the TCM and put in in his dinner. Hahaha I was even considering somehow breaking up the Complex B tablets last night and putting it there . He works a lot and has always worked alot so this could be most of the reason, but I cant stop him to rest.

Thanks for your insight.
