Indeed! One thing I would say is that Rahu and Jupiter can be the cause of Guru Chandal Yog. Some say this can cause the native to suffer from hallucinations, and their minds are easily affected by dark forces. On the other hand, it's a gateway to the universe of the higher subconscious.

I think that moon nodes are extremely important to understand and reach soul revolution.

Re: Vedic video about Jupiter conjunct Rahu/Ketu

They are indeed no doubt. Though in Vedic they are out rightly bad no matter where their placements are. They are in fact good as they are indicative of what we should be aiming to achieve and digest and what we strive to let go to make ourselves better. Rahu and Ketu's tale is quite interesting.

In ancient Hindu mythology it's said that after the universe's creation, life on our Earth was needed to kick start and there were many secrets/gems/celestial instruments/devices/beings/animals/divine weapons and above all ambrosia and it's equal and opposite poison that was trapped deep below the sea bed. The Devtas (demi-gods) were summoned to Vaikunta (the abode of Lord Vishnu the preserver) and were instructed to call a truce with their Danavas (demon) cousins in order to churn all these wonderful things out of the depths of the then one giant ocean (I assume the world was all one big Gondwanaland back then). At first they were in disagreement with Lord Vishnu, but reluctantly agreed. After consulting their Guru Bhrihaspati (in astrology he is known as Jupiter the teacher) they approached the demon clan and their Guru Shukra (in astrology he is known as Venus the poet, quite different to Western where we depict Venus as a beautiful goddess). An agreement was finally reached to commence the churning of the ocean bed.

Lord Vishnu then instructed his divine weapon Sudarshan Chakra (symbolised as bright golden discuss which could through anything) to cut a large mountain so this would grind out all the objects. His eagle Garuda brought the cut mountain on his back and placed it in the middle of the ocean as per the instructions of his master. The 5, or sometimes portrayed as the 7 headed, sea serpent Sheshnaag became the rope for both parties to hold either side, whilst Lord Vishnu himself became a giant sea turtle of the his back supported the mountain to ease with the churning process. The demons were told to hold the face end of the celestial serpent (which supposedly breathes fire) to choke them before they could get their hands on the eventual ambrosia and become immortal. They knew of the risk involved holding the end of the sea serpent's head, but they reluctantly agreed to this condition.

One after another the items churned out of the ocean bed, and eventually the divine nectar appeared. The idea of the churning was to grant immortality to the demi-gods only, as Lord Vishnu was concerned that mankind would end up demonic at the beginning of this current Great Cycle or Mahayuga. When the ambrosia was in the reaches of possession and consumption, it ended up in the hands of the demons. The demons did in fact take it with them to their Asur Loka (abode of the demons). However Lord Vishnu assumed the form of a woman known as Mohini (beautiful maiden) and used the power to Maya (illusion) to attract these demons and divert their attention away from the nectar (amrit). In her divine way, she tricked the demons in turn and took possession of the nectar jar. She stipulated that she would only give it to them on the condition that they invite their demi-god counterparts and share the nectar in equal proportions since they made half the effort of extracting it from the sea bed. Lost in her beauty, they all agreed.

So along came all the demi-gods and stood in the court room of the demons in the opposite number. She then put another condition that she would only give them demons their share of the nectar if, and only if, they should their gratitude to their guests by offering it to them first. Again, they agreed lost in her beauty.

As Mohini approached the end of the line of the demi-gods, a demon by the alias Swarabhanu had wondered why she was so in favour of the demi-gods, by insisting that they should have their fair share, they should be given the first share because they are guests after all etc. Feeling deceived he then used his mystical power of sight and noticed that Mohini was in fact the sworn enemy of the demons, their slayer: Lord Vishnu. So Swarbhanu assumed the form of demi-god and without being caught, craftily crept his way across the court room and joined the end of the line of the demi-gods.

Chandra (Moon) noticed that he was the last of the demi-gods to be given the divine sustenance, and wondered where this new demi-god appeared from out of no where after Swarbhanu had consumed the last part of the nectar (at this point the jar was empty, there was nothing left for the demons to consume). He realised that Swarbhanu was in fact a demon and straight away raised the alarm and alerted his fellow demi-gods of Swarbhanu's act of desperation to obtain nectar.

At this point Mohini was infuriated by the actions of Swarbhanu at immediately re-assumed her original form as Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu immediately sent his divine discuss and decapitated Swarbhanu. The demon could not die though as he had already consumed the last part of the divine nectar. Thus Lord Vishnu had no other alternative but to grant him a place in the Nakshatra Loka (abode of the astrological stars/constellations). His head became Rahu and the body became Ketu.

And so the demi-gods became immortal and their demon cousins, mortals.

From this mythological story we can note that as the Moon deity grassed on Swarbhanu and thus Rahu-Moon/Ketu-Moon are usually quite difficult aspects to deal with in a lifetime. You'll note more often than not, that these 2 planets when in aspect or conjunction will do more harm than good. The demon was a disciple of Venus, thus he is usually friendly in Venus' company or in aspect. Jupiter, teacher of the demi-gods, is also usually considered an enemy of the Rahu/Ketu. Again, the two can cause problems for the individual especially in conjunction. As per my example in my first post in this thread, the Rahu-Jupiter conjunction gives rise to Guru Chandal Yog (hallucinations), but the positivity is that it opens the path for the individual towards the universe of higher consciousness.

I've always been mystified when I come across mythological stories of various faiths which integrate quite comfortably with astrology. It is a strange connection indeed.

Yes, is the same among astrology in the Greek, Babylonian, Egyptian and Chinese. Planets and fixed stars are all link to mythology with interesting stories to help people to understand their natures.

We don't know if those gods ever were true or not though.
