It's not just the general gun safety issues.
Other actors have commented that there are very specific steps
that are to be taken when handing the gun to the actor.
They are supposed to have a flashlight
and shine it into the chamber
and have the actor visually inspect it
and verify that it is not loaded.
This was not done.

Another scenario:

when the gun is checked for mechanical damage
and any improper alteration.
If the gun is found to be in good working order
his scenario of only pulling back the hammer
and not touching the trigger
will fall apart.
Properly working single actions
cannot be fired by manipulating the hammer alone.
The only exception is when the hammer is at rest on a live round
where the gun does not have a transfer bar
or block lock mechanism, etc.
In such cases an impact to the back of the hammer
can cause a discharge.
But
that scenario does not apply in Baldwin’s case
because the hammer was not impacted from behind.

Baldwin also did not follow protocol
in terms of knowing the features of the gun

or had a heart attack
She was just age 42, healthy, slim and fit.
Not a heart attack candidate
and he stood over her for at least a minute.
It's weird to faint / have a heart attack whilst also bleeding out
after a loud noise happened when '...the trigger fired on its own...'!!!!

and yet
the Cinematographer was shot point blank with a .45 colt
one of the most powerful rounds for a gun!
how could he no know that she had been shot?

The gun goes off inside a small church
there is a flash and a deafening sound
the gun kicks
a bullet enters and exits the womans' body, so there is certainly blood.
She falls to the ground.
After all of this, Alec says he didn't understand what had happened
until 45 minutes later???

.45 colt does not make a popping sound
it's very loud sound
about 162 decibels
loud enough to cause ringing in your ears
and even cause pain
which is why
when you shoot at a range
you use ear protection.
a jet engine only produces 130 decibels.

Of course he could see that she was shot.
Cinematographer was shot with a .45 CAL bullet
AND
so was the guy behind her.
For him to act like he didn't know what happened for 45 minutes
is beyond ridiculous.
In addition would have been the sound
which in that small building would have been deafening.

Oh, and let's not forget that according to Baldwin
he doesn't have his index finger through the trigger guard
nor does he have his thumb on the hammer.
So just how much of a grip would he then have
when this .45 CAL gun goes off? Not much!
In fact, it would have pretty much recoiled right out of his hand.
What a putz.

the armorer was not at the church at the time
there was no firearm to be used in the scene
And the armorer was off doing another job on the set

the weapon was only 18" from Halyna.

Baldwin was that close
I don't think he was being truthful
about thinking she had fainted.

there was a lot of blood in no time.
She had an obvious hole in her jacket.

He said he just stood there for a minute, after the gun went off.
A minute?
That is a long time to stand over your victim
who wiggles in pain on the ground directly below.
That kind of behavior makes me cringe imagining it.
Seems like the behavior of a psychopath
obtaining pleasure while watching another die.
Alec was in such close proximity to her and didn't offer any aid.

He just stood there.

sickening that the Cinematographer died from negligence
