POPULAR VOTE TOTALS

As of November 13, the AP was reporting these popular vote totals:
Donald Trump 60,350,241 (47.3%)
Hillary Clinton 60,981,118 (47.79%)
That’s a difference of 630,877 votes.

Trump’s margin is slightly lower than Mitt Romney’s
but may exceed it after uncounted ballots are tallied
propelling TRUMP to the highest Republican popular vote total in history

(See a state-by-state popular vote list here.)

Still confusing. Simplifying: Should the President be elected by a National majority of qualified voters; or, should voters in less populated States have their vote-count artificially inflated by the Electoral College system? Everything else is "Majority Rules", why not Presidential elections? States-rights are protected by each State having 2 Senators regardless of population.

If you want election reform, NOW is the time to start.

I don't live there, and don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. It's up to you guys if it's that important.

If it is - do something :)

My Chart says "Observe dispassionately". Logic is important to me, as are facts. Based on my logical observations, and the most reliable facts I've seen and heard, the Electoral College SHOULD be consigned to the dust-bin of History, but first, Hell has to freeze over--still waiting for word on that!

Not only the Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton had less than Barack Obama's two victorious campaigns, there are less registered voters actually going out to vote. This is worse than the 2000 presidential election crisis, when Florida took 6 weeks to find out who won and the SCOTUS awarded George W. Bush the win in a close decision. The 2004 re-election involved less voters, but like 2000 it was a tie without winning a majority.

Siriusly....

You can keep spinning it any way you want.
The electoral college was created
so as to not allow a metropolitan enclave that is densely populated
control the election effectively disenfranchising a majority of the States.

As the South didn't have cities of great density as the likes of Philadelphia, Boston and New York City when the Constitution was framed
the electoral college was instituted to give a fair balance of influence among the all the States in having a voice in the matter......

Here's map showing the outcome of this presidential election of 2016 county by county in the United States.
The blue regions are those counties in which Ms Clinton won by popular vote.
As you can easily see that didn't amount to very much in terms of regional territory. .

So you still think that it would only be a fair election if the presidency is given to Hillary
even though those small patches of blue
in a overwhelming sea of red
is all that she truly represent of the United States in ideology?

I don't know if you're an American or some other nations' citizen or what racial group you are a part Of
or believe your self to be a part of but as you seem to be championing a Black cause,
and there isn't one tiny thing wrong with that,
but a nagging question I have is,
why would you have voted for (as you obviously did) a Southern Democrat,
whom was mentored by Senator Byrd of West Virginia and whom happened to be a
( I'm not exactly sure of the title but I'll get it close enough) Grand Cyclops of the KKK
and whose husband, Bill, saw to it that more Black men in America are now serving life sentences
than at any time previously in history?

And finally, there are some sources on the internet presently that are declaring
that the popular vote went to Trump.
They claim that the official tally is deliberately being foot dragged along
in order to either encourage protest
or to give those that are protesting some salve for their wounded pride
or whatever they feel is wounded.
I don't give a hoot if he won the popular vote or not,
I'm just giving equal time to claims just as ludicrous but
considering the election fraud I witnessed first hand here in California during the primaries ..
as YES BERNIE DID GET MORE VOTES HERE THAN HILLARY...
He was well ahead by 53% when the recall ran out of time...
a far cry from what they claimed the final result was.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that the only reason she has any lead presently
was due to the same b.s she pulled here and in a number of other States as well.

As I pointed out the present margin of votes,
by either story as to whom is ahead you believe to be true,
is so minuscule to the overall number of voters
that when you take a realistic look at how much regional territory Clinton actually did win,
that to come into this thread trying to declare that Hillary will win,

or the electoral College should be dismantled,
not to mention the childish spitefulness of the protests and riots et al
that have been going on for days is starting to irritate me just a wee bit.
Hillary is not going to be declared the winner.
The electoral College is not going to be dismantled,
no States are going to secede from the Union
.
Trump won the election by the same process we have elected presidents for more than 200 years,
He will be sworn in as our next president, like it or not ...GET OVER IT.

The foot-dragging is to prevent further unrest, because the final tally will make Trump's Popular-vote loss even more obvious. The Election is over [IMO]. Trump has been elected by the customary method for choosing our President. Now, we have nothing to fear, but Trump himself! I'll be very pleased if he turns out to be a better President than what I expect. This completes the Corporate take-over of America, for better or for worse.

This just in--The candidate with by far the most votes, both Electoral and Popular, will not be available to serve
so Trump is now President-elect!
Candidate Noneofthe Above, the actual winner, made the announcement,
but declined interviews.
:sideways:
Fact is
Trump got 47% of the popular vote aka 60,371,182
Clinton got 48% of the popular vote aka 61,039,251
