Using a local space chart (geographical center of the world at 0' latitude - the equator and 0' longitude - prime meridian), divide the world into 12 signs and find your country you reside in within the particular sign. The world map limited from 80 N to 60 S latitudes, basically 98% of the world's population (estimated 7.5 billion in 2018). And the special area of Ophiuchus (within Leo) from 50-25 N and 60-120 W (the USA and Canada) and similarly of Orion (within Aquarius) from 25-50 S and 90-150 E (Australia and New Zealand).

ARIES - Uganda, Yemen, India, China and Japan.

TAURUS - Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Mongolia.

GEMINI - Nigeria, Libya, Algeria, western Russia or entirely the former USSR and most of the European Union.

CANCER - Senegal, Morocco, Spain, the UK with Ireland and Iceland.

LEO - Azores, Canada, Newfoundland, eastern US and northern US.

VIRGO - Venezuela, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii.

LIBRA - northern Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru and Ecuador.

SCORPIO - southern Brazil, Falkland Islands, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.

SAGITTARIUS - No country, oddly the United States of America counts as one here.

CAPRICORN - South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Botswana and Mozambique.

AQUARIUS - Madagascar, Reunion, Australia and New Zealand.

PISCES - Kenya, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Melanesia and Fiji.

In ancient astrology, they use the signs ruler planets (traditional version) to determine which sign or planet rules the particular country and region.

ARIES/SCORPIO (Mars - Fiery): Europe excluding Russia.

TAURUS/LIBRA (Venus - Earthy): Arabia or Asia Minor.

GEMINI/VIRGO (Mercury - Airy): Indian subcontinent.

CANCER (Moon - Watery): East Asia like China.

LEO (Sun - Fixed): Sub-saharan Africa with Northern parts.

SAGITTARIUS/PISCES (Jupiter - Mutable): Indochina and Indonesia.

CAPRICORN/AQUARIUS (Saturn - Cardinal): Russia briefly the USSR.

I think you will find the constellation Ophiucus crammed in between Scorpio and Sagittarius, not in Leo....

I'm curious... How does Orion, included within the 30-degree span of Aquarius, embrace 60 degrees of longitude (90-150E)? I never was very good at math.

From a Youtube comment on an astrological video I read today:

I find it interesting that the western European nations that had world empires were under air or fire signs except Portugal and the Netherlands. England - Aries, Germany - Aries, Spain - Sagittarius, France - Leo (explains the French attitude) Italy - Leo, Belgium - Gemini (opposite sisters Flanders and Wallonia), Russia - Aquarius. Heck even Japan and China fall under the sign Libra.

The leading world empires are under the masculine or positive energy signs. The USA is a Sagittarius, a masculine and positive. And Canada (opposite ethnological kin Anglophones in all 10 but one provinces, and Francophones in their province of Quebec). Denmark had a few colonies, but is an Aquarian.

The sign of a certain locale can be related to the first letter of the place name.

Aries: A-B, Taurus: C-D, Gemini: E-G, Cancer: H-I, Leo: J-L, Virgo: M-N, Libra: O-P, Scorpio: Q-R, Sagittarius: S-T, Capricorn: U-V, Aquarius: W-X and Pisces: Y-Z.

For example: (I-Cancer) Indio, (C-Taurus) California, (U-Capricorn) USA or United states of America. My hometown is cancerian, state taurean and nation capricornian.

I'm not exactly sure the USA has a repetitive cycle of peak unity and division based on astrological influences. 2019 (current year with right neocon capitalist red vs. left progressive socialist liberal culture wars), 1859 (before the civil war briefly divided the country) and 1699 (theocratic hysteria like the Salem witch trials) are their weakest and 1939 (Great Depression before our entry in WW2), 1779 (independence and the American revolution) and 1619 (first colonies established in the east coast of North America) are their strongest. What may bring the USA closer together or pulled farthest apart in this cyclical pattern?
