….going with the assumption that Maddy is located southwest of the Algarve….
The deceased hotel restaurant employee (whose wife was being interviewed in November 2013) came from the Cape Verde Islands, a part of Portugal located 500kms west of northwest Africa and southwest from the Algarve….
The geography of the Cape Verde archipelago consists of 10 volcanic islands covering an area of 4000 square kilometers in a horseshoe shape.
From the event chart we can see that the Saturn (the body, the bones) is located in Leo 9th house. Normally, Luley only pays attention to the angular houses and rulers, but in body location charts, she uses the location and situation of Saturn in the chart.
The islands are sandy and dry, flat or scattered with volcanoes. The island of Sal is made up of natural salt evaporation ponds, and the island of Fogo has the highest peak, an old volcano, Pico do Fogo. All the islands have volcanic and plutonic (fire) igneous rock and soda-alkaline (Saturn) geographical areas.
The 9th house rules many things, but generally far-away places, travel over long distances, major highways, flying on planes, people from other places, foreigners, the outdoors and outdoor activities like camping and hunting. It can describe schools, teachers, places of learning. The 9th house can refer to the law, authorities and the police.
Leo rules places that are majestic, public buildings, government, public halls, and amusement parks, Leo is also connected with royalty, palaces, castles…and conversely it can indicate inaccessible places, like deserts, areas where wild animals are, jungles, or heavily forested public parks.

I noticed some transits for the time of her disappearance, related to her natal chart (set for May 12, 2003, 6:14 PM, Leicester, England)
In the event chart (posted above):
-transiting Jupiter (significator of the event chart) conjuncts natal Pluto (less than 1 degree)
-transiting Moon conjuncts natal South Node exactly (note that the Moon is posited in the last degree of Scorpio, in the 12th whole sign house, in the event chart)
-dispositor of the natal ascendant, Venus (natal ascendant sign = Libra), in transit approaches natal Saturn in the event chart (but is just outside of acceptable transit conjunction orb, being about 2 degrees from exact)
-in the natal, Mercury posits the 8th whole sign house (conjunct crescent-on-cross Lilith by 3 degrees, Lilith also posits the 8th house-as does the Sun-in the natal chart); in the event chart, transiting Sun and transiting Mercury conjoin natal Mercury exactly (Note: by symbolic direction, Lilith directs exactly to Mercury in the child's 3rd year of life-ie the time of her abduction: so we have Lilith directed to Mercury-both in the 8th natal house-and, at the time of the event, an exact transit conjunction of the Sun and Mercury to that Mercury's natal place, ie 13 Taurus)

As the search for Maddy reopened last month, with teams digging for her body in empty land sites near the hotel...
I found this 2003 news article about the scale of child abuse in Portugal (in the upper crust of society) at the time....

Using Inline's chart, Madeline would be Jupiter in Sag, in 1st house. She was on her own.
I considered using 7th house for her parents because it's just suitable for how this investigation is going. They would be Mercury in 6th house. Busy with work and Mercury combusts Sun would describe their powerless situation. Mercury also rules 10th house police, who also seems helpless. Were the parents dining that fateful night with someone of authority and power (Sun), of higher learning or from afar (9th house) that they cannot decline the dinner?
Going back to Madeline, she would be both Jupiter and Moon.
Jupiter sextile Neptune, square Mars
Moon square Neptune, trine Mars
Madeline trusted Mars but felt deceived. There was also conflict between Madeline and Mars earlier when Mars square Jupiter.
Mars here could refer to the father since it rules 5th house (parents) or 12th house. If it's not the father, it's some other guy Madeline met before. Moon breaking away from Neptune square and Mars trine could mean she stopped trusting the person.
I think Madeline walked out of house on her own. Jupiter approaches perfect trine with Saturn. Saturn rules 2nd, 3rd house. I actually think she could have gone out to look for her older neighbors (3rd) for help perhaps for herself and her brothers (3rd).
But as Jupiter retrogrades, it squares Uranus at the IC. Something unexpected happened on the way.
The possibility of Mars being the father is high since he is also in 4th house, with access to the family i guess. Mars square Venus (which in this case refers to the mother) would show dispute whether to stay at the dinner (7th) or head back home. Perhaps it was the mother who insisted on staying at the dinner. This could be why they are filled with guilt for their negligence.
The other possible scenario I can see off this chart is Mars (as secret abductor) was going to kidnap Madeline but Madeline got saved by Saturn (an older figure of authority, a person of higher learning) in the 9th house. As Mercury accompanied by Sun cannot get along well with Saturn, Saturn did not help the parents/police find Madeline or they did not trust Saturn's words when he holds important information.
