I use Equal House system (where each cusp is same as Ascendant) and am a modern astrologer. Lots of newcomers come into Astrology/forums and get a free chart from www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few others if you wish to experiment…..

So in Equal house saturn would be 9th along with sun, conj saturn, which shows lack of rapport with father and strong Capricorn/saturn influences affecting your sun/scorpio

All this seems to be consistent with my life experience. I seem to have been suffering quite a lot in relationships and love. I very rarely find someone with whom to be and all of my relationships (which weren't so many) ended up very bad and bitter for both me and her. Despite a very fiery and passionate start and a very passionate love, in most cases, after some quite long period of time, everything fell apart. It takes me a long time to recover from these emotional breakdowns.

I seem to be severely handicapped in this area. On one hand I seem to be unable to have any success in love and on the other hand I seem to have a deep need to have this kind of success.

I really want to fix this aspect. After all, the stars should also show you some way to improve your life or else, it wouldn't be of any use to reveal it, right?

What can I do? What are some guidelines?

Thanks a lot,
DT
in men's chart we look at venus and moon, 7th house any planets posited there, 7th house cusp ruler Leo/sun placed in 9th house

Saturn in the 9th house
· Saturn's best positions are the 3rd and 9th houses. Gives a practical philosophy of life.
· Not good for relationships with in-laws if afflicted. Best to live at a distance.
· Makes good teachers, professors, workers in publishing fields or scientific pursuits.
· Good at detailed work. Exacting and concentrative.
· Can be fanatical and intolerant in religious concerns if Saturn is afflicted.
· These people are influenced by the conservative religion and traditional values of their background. Even rebellion will change only the form and not the reality of their basic beliefs.
· Life or travel in foreign countries may be most successful if connected with work.
· Care should be taken to avoid difficulties in travel.
· Systems of belief you will judge according to their practical value and you will seek and desire personal distinction through some achievement you have studied.

Ruler of the 7th House in the 9th House
Quote:
Relationships must be vital and alive rather than static and routine in order for you to feel fulfilled. In some cases, the spouse comes from a culture that is very different from your own background. You might shy away from a legal commitment. Your partner brings out the philosopher or wanderer in you. Through partnerships, you feel more adventurous, curious, and interested in exploring beyond your neighbourhood. Although you may rely on others to inspire your own higher mind, you do not necessarily concur with her beliefs. You enjoy discussing and creating your personal philosophies together with a partner

Ruler of the Seventh House in the Ninth House

Your spouse may be from a foreign country or he/she may simply come from a culture that is very different from your own background. You might prefer a living together arrangement with a partner rather than making a legal commitment. However, it may be that your attitude towards marriage was heavily influenced by your religious beliefs or your religious upbringing. Additionally, a partner or even very close friends might be able to influence your philosophical ideas about spiritual matters.
