Playlist of the Week(music)

Smashing Pumpkins...

Galapogos.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mOlIraiU6y0&feature=related (not so keen on the vid....)

Ain't it funny how we pretend we're still a child
Softly stolen under our blanket skies
And rescue me from me, and all that I believe
I won't deny the pain
I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Will you leave me too?

To Forgive
this song is fantastic
http://youtube.com/watch?v=68sAIUyxTbc&feature=related
Ten times removed
I forget about where it all began
******* son of a ******* son of
A wild eyed child of the sun
And right as rain, I'm not the same but
I feel the same, I feel nothing
Holding back the fool again
Holding back the fool pretends
I forget to forget nothing is important
Holding back the fool again
I sensed my loss
Before I even learned to talk
And I remember my birthdays
Empty party afternoons won't come back
Holding back the fool again
Holding back the fool pretends
I forget to forget nothing is important
Holding back the fool again
I forget to forget me
I forget to forget you see
Nothing is important to me
I knew my loss
Before I even learned to speak

Fool enough to almost be it
Cool enough to not quite see it, doomed
Pick your pocket full of sorrow
Run away with me tomorrow, June

David Bowie's lyrics engage my brain, I think this song relates to Orwell's novel..

Big Brother - David Bowie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=555jxltr9Zo&feature=related

I find his lyrics engage my brain..
Don't talk of dust and roses
Or should we powder our noses?
Don't live for last year's capers
Give me steel, give me steel, give me pulsars unreal

He'll build a glass asylum
With just a hint of mayhem
He'll build a better whirlpool
We'll be living from sin,
then we can really begin

Here is another Bowie song, back from the early 70's too. He is pretending to be mad, or is that sane?...

All the Madmen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlVbLgxokEo
Day after day
They send my friends away
To mansions cold and grey
To the far side of town
Where the thin men stalk the streets
While the sane stay underground

Day after day
They tell me I can go
They tell me I can blow
To the far side of town
Where it's pointless to be high
'Cause it's such a long way down
So I tell them that
I can fly, I will scream, I will break my arm

Bowie is a fav. of mine.

I like this as well.
Slow Burn:

Here shall we live in this terrible town
Where the price for our minds
shall squeeze them tight like a fist
And the walls shall have eyes
And the doors shall have ears
But we'll dance in their dark
And they'll play with our lives

Like a Slow Burn
Leading us on and on and on
Like a Slow Burn
Turning us round and round and round Hark who are we
So small in times such as these
Slow Burn
Slow Burn

Bowie is a 12h sun, in capricorn, hence the space aliens and such, as well as the government consperiacy lyrics he puts out.
Allot of his songs look 1984ish.

He's either underground or overground, and either one tend's to bother him it seems...he's either large or squished like a bug.

Lol, yeah! I've loved his music since my early teenage years, loved the words. Wow never know he was h12 Sun.. Maybe that my Uranus in the 10th, I never conformed to conformity.

Here is another from Diamond Dogs, mid 70,s. I think he based alot of songs on 1984. Lol this one has so many refs to Big Brother which are actually coming true!
------------------------------------------------------------------------

1984 - from Diamond Dogs also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmDvcP_dMNk

Someday they won't let you, so now you must agree
The times they are a-telling,
and the changing isn't free
You've read it in the tea leaves, and the tracks are on TV
Beware the savage jaw
Of 1984

They'll split your pretty cranium, and fill it full of air
And tell that you're eighty, but brother, you won't care
You'll be shooting up on anything, tomorrow's neverthere
Beware the savage jaw
Of 1984

Dodo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6iVyL7s02U) - its the 2nd track..

Now we can talk in confidence
Did you guess that weve been done wrong
Lies jumped the queue to be first in line
Such a shameless design

He thinks hes well screened from the man at the top
Its a shame that his children disagree
They cooly decide to sell him down the line
Daddys brainwashing time

Hes a dodo, no no didnt hear it from me
Hes a dodo, no no didnt hear it from me

Simple X

Some people wake up on Monday mornings
arring maelstroms and red flare warnings
With no explosions and no surprises
Perform a series of exercises

Hold your fire
Take your place around an open fire

Before your neurons declare a crisis
Before your trace Serotonin rises
Before you're reading your coffee grounds
And before a pundit can make a sound
And before you're reading your list of vices
Perform the simplest exercises

So here we are at the end
The war is over
There's nothing left to defend
No cliffs of Dover
So let us put down our pens
And this concludes the test
Our minds are scattered about
From hell to breakfast

Hold your fire
Take your place around an open fire

Before your neurons declare a crisis
Before your trace Serotonin rises
Before you're reading your list of vices
Perform the simplest exercises
Hold your fire
Hold your fire

Bungle In the Jungle
Walking through forests of palm tree apartments ---
scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents
down by the waterhole --- drunk every Friday ---
eating their nuts --- saving their raisins for Sunday.
Lions and tigers who wait in the shadows ---
they're fast but they're lazy, and sleep in green meadows.
Let's bungle in the jungle --- well, that's all right by me.
I'm a tiger when I want love,
but I'm a snake if we disagree.
Just say a word and the boys will be right there:
with claws at your back to send a chill through the night air.
Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder?
Thunder and lightning couldn't be bolder.
I'll write on your tombstone, ``I thank you for dinner.''
This game that we animals play is a winner.
Let's bungle in the jungle --- well, that's all right by me.
I'm a tiger when I want love,
but I'm a snake if we disagree.
The rivers are full of crocodile nasties
and He who made kittens put snakes in the grass.
He's a lover of life but a player of pawns ---
yes, the King on His sunset lies waiting for dawn
to light up His Jungle
as play is resumed.
The monkeys seem willing to strike up the tune.

Mila Jovovich
Holy Fall (MP3, notes/lyrics)
Remedy (MP3, notes/lyrics)
Diving Up (MP3, notes/lyrics)
Bring It On (MP3, notes/lyrics)
These are great, from her webpage here.
They can be downloaded, and mixed, but not sold...
There are more demos here as well...these are my favs.
Mila's that girl from 5th Eliment, ya know, the movie..but she's been making music for some time, and i think she does a great job with it and should put more out...but she's a busy girl.
She did put out an Album -Divine Comedy- That did somewhat OK...I enjoyed that as well..
A freid of mine had a crush on her in High School, I didn't know who she was till then ..pictures up eveywhere...I bumped into her music later...never knew she was so talented...Film, Music, Modeling is modeling(laugh), but these tracks are great...I'm impressed..I just thought she was a pretty face, but there is depth to her.

.
Bring it on is sexy...
Diving Up is beautifull...
Holy Fall is as well..Piano and acoustic gutair..
Remedy is a very close favorite of mine...
There are some amazing Melodies here..not bad for demo's.
I never added breathing in your sleep, Or Calm Water..i like the heavy pluck gutair, horns are a nice touch, the song has a depth and dimension..space ...thats a good one too..listening to that now.
The music is what i love about her the most.
I can't resist a songster.

I was going to post a story of the day today, so i will...It's nothing great, but I liked it anyway..
Tsquare.

CRAB STORY

It was my first trip to a wet market.

One thing that caught my attention, and I just had to stop and look, were the crabs in the basket. The crabs were alive and crawling around but the basket did not have any lid on it.

“Won’t the crabs escape?” I asked the man tending to his crab stall.

He laughed and replied, “Just look at these crabs as they try to climb out of the basket.”

I did, and true enough, one or two did try to climb out. But before it could reach halfway up, another crab that was also trying to climb out would pull it down. And this went on and on, so none of the crabs could actually climb up and escape.

“Ah! You see?” said the old man. “I just let the other crabs take care of the one that tries to escape and be free. When one tries to climb up, the others would pull it down. So, in the end, no one gets out.”

“And that is exactly the darkside characteristics of most people,” chuckled the old man.

“When others see one person go up it often triggers fear of being left behind, greed, envy or jealousy, they will then find a way to pull him down,” he laughed, showing his nicotine-stained teeth. “So, in the end, no people can go up.”

So that's it.
I'll post a unrelated song or 2 as well.
