Thanks Venusine. I believed that if a house was at a 5 degree cusp you should used the next sign. For e.g. both Gemini (Mercury sig) and Sagittarius (Jupiter sig) are both at 28.31 so you would use Cancer (Moon sig) for the querent and Capricorn (Saturn sig) for the 7th house. I always thought that. Is this wrong? Or am I confusing myself even more than I need too????

I think that method is used only when planets are close to house cusp. When asc is early or late it has different meaning in horary. For example early Asc, close to house cusp, equals that question is premature..there is something that is unpredictable and not yet to be seen. If it's late, past 28 degree, querent may already know the answer, has asked the question multiple times or it's too late to influence things. There was some other reasons too that I don't remember. But especially with late Asc one has to look what moon is doing and whole shape of the chart :)
