We are now hearing the 'other side of the story'....the defense side and already, they are strongly contesting the 'causation' part of Floyd's death.

TOPLINE A forensic pathologist called as a witness by Derek Chauvin’s defense team testified Wednesday that he believes George Floyd died of heart failure caused by underlying conditions, contradicting the testimony of multiple expert witnesses for the prosecution who said the former Minneapolis police officer’s prolonged restraint of Floyd caused his death.

Dr. David Fowler, Maryland’s former medical chief examiner, said he reviewed Floyd’s case after he was approached by Chauvin’s defense attorney Eric Nelson with the help of fellow experts in a group known as the Forensic Panel.

Fowler said he concluded Floyd suffered a “sudden cardiac arrhythmia” because of his heart disease “during his restraint and subdual by police.”

The medical expert said Floyd’s drug use played a “significant” role, citing the fentanyl and methamphetamine found in Floyd’s body at his time of death, and suggested (for the first time in the trial) that Floyd may have experienced carbon monoxide poisoning from exhaust fumes from the police vehicle.

The Washington Post described him as “among the most respected forensic pathologists in America.”

THERE WERE MOMENTS WHEN DEREK CHAUVIN COULD HAVE MADE DIFFERENT CHOICES
WHICH WOULD HAVE LED TO DIFFERENT OUTCOMES

State prosecutors rested their case

allowing attorney Eric Nelson
to begin calling witnesses in Chauvin's defense.

Riot declared in Portland after protesters set police station on fire

A riot was declared in Portland after at least 100 people descended on a police union building and set it ablaze — as angry protests continue across the US after the death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Minnesota.

Yep, they've gotta get those brand new flat screen tvs and scam more millions from the corporations to buy more mansions.:sick::sick:

Meanwhile, the violent mob went to officer's house to kill her. :alien:

She's been charged with manslaughter as everyone who looks at the videos can clearly see that she reached for her gun instead of her taser.
Wright is violent & could have had a gun with him.
People screaming 'racist' killing don't have a clue about how dangerous it is to deal with violent thugs like Floyd & Wright who wouldn't hesitate to shoot a cop quicker than the mob can burn down a building. They shouldn't have resisted arrest in the first place.

Kimberly Potter arrested, will be charged with manslaughter in Daunte Wright shooting

Floyd too could have made different choices.

Like not brutally assaulting a woman years ago & served 5 yrs.

Like not engaging in criminal activity like passing counterfeit bills.

Like not resisting arrest.

Like not swallowing his entire stash of drugs in the back of the police car.

And 'homicide' is the act of 'killing' another person.

It's not murder.

Big difference.

You want to declare Chauvin guilty of murder with NO evidence. You want to declare Chauvin a racist when there is NO evidence.

That's what courts are for.

Every person deserves to have THEIR side of the story heard.

This bs narrative that all cops are racist is ludicrous. More of them are murdered by black men, far more then the odd black person who dies by a cop.

In case you are not aware, many black men are dangerous, violent criminals and that's why police have to be extra cautious when dealing with them.

I know I know, I'm a racist right-winger for speaking the truth.

Try working as a police officer for 6 months & see how quickly you would be branded as a racist killer!

You do realize how courts work right?

The Prosecution presents their case first. They are only going to bring in witnesses that help them prosecute the accused. They are not always moral, honest or fair. That's why every person deserves a good defense attorney. Most people can't afford their own lawyers and get poor representation with gov't paid ones. The prosecution which is the gov't have unlimited resources and that's why there are so many innocent people in jail or people who have to take plea deals even though they may be innocent of the charges.

Nobody is denying that Floyd died while being restrained by Chauvin..but the legal question is whether it was accidental or deliberate, whether there were other factors involved in his death.

The defense lawyer is very good, even with the 11 well-heeled prosecutors and millions of dollars at their disposal to pay their 'expert' witnesses. He has already poked holes in their case with some testifying that Chauvin's restraint was not unusual or uncommon.
He has cross-examined very well & got a couple of the 'experts' to admit that the high level of drugs in Floyd's system could have contributed to his breathing problems.

Now, he has brought in a very prominent pathologist who said that heart attack led to Floyd's death, not the restraint (which was perfectly legal back then).

Let's allow the trial to proceed without want to put Chauvin in front of a firing squad.
There has been zero evidence that Chauvin was racist & out to murder Floyd.

The law is governed by Saturn factual evidence. Give the defense lawyer time to present his case before jumping to conclusions based on emotional hyperbole.

EXPLAINER: Legion of Chauvin prosecutors, each with own role

Viewers watching the trial of a former Minneapolis officer charged with murder in George Floyd ’s death may be struck by the array of prosecutors taking turns presenting their case. The choice of who does what is no accident.

While Derek Chauvin ’s attorney, Eric Nelson, works alone, the prosecution is being handled by two assistant attorneys general, Matthew Frank and Erin Eldridge, and two outside lawyers, Jerry Blackwell and Steve Schleicher. Ten more are working behind the scenes, many for free.

Please remember that a person can be charged with a number of crimes and may be innocent of all the charges.

Also, please remember the violent Antifa.BLM mobs which are there to intimidate the jury.

I think they shouldn't have had a trial for a year or so because I don't think Chauvin can even get a fair trial. Do you honestly believe the jury will feel safe if they acquit him?

BLM activist: 'All hell' will break loose and buildings will burn 'if George Floyd's murderer is not sentenced'

These violent mobs now want to dictate how courts operate and the trial verdicts. That's not justice, that's terrorism. They should all be declared domestic terrorists instead of being celebrated and given millions.

also keep in mind

that Derek Chauvin chose to act the way he chose to act
and

the consequence is a trial

where George Floyd is accused of George Floyd death by HOMICIDE
and it is
the Jury decision, based on evidence for and against
whether culpable or not

Fowler is a former medical examiner

called by Derek Chauvin's defense attorney

to testify about Floyd's cause of death.
He said his opinion is that Floyd died from a "...sudden cardiac arrhythmia..."

contradicting the state's experts
who said Floyd died from low oxygen.

HOWEVER

Dr. David Fowler acknowledged that as a physician
he believes
George Floyd should have been given "...immediate medical attention...."
when he went into cardiac arrest.

What about causing a death that was preventable, due to "depraved indifference"?

That appears to have been what occurred in this case.

Is that "voluntary manslaughter"?

Here's a recap of the witnesses
who testified Tuesday in the Chauvin trial
for the homicide of George Floyd.
A review of the witnesses suggest that
the defense may be doing itself more harm than good.
Did Chauvin's Defense Witnesses Score ANY Points

or

Did They Actually Hurt Chauvin's Case?

Derek Chauvin presented the testimony
of medical examiner/forensic pathologist Dr. David Fowler.

He offered different (and often unsupportable) opinions
than all other experts on George Floyd's cause and manner of death.

Here's a takedown of his testimony
and why he likely lost more points than he won for the defense.

There are times during a criminal trial when constitutional rights collide:
a defendant's 6th Amendment right
to compel witnesses to testify in his/her defense

collides with a witness's 5th Amendment right

against self-incrimination.

This situation has presented itself
in the Derek Chauvin trial for the murder of George Floyd.
Chavin's attorney wants to call Maurise Hall
as a witness because Hall allegedly provided drugs to Floyd.

However, Hall's attorney asserts
that her client has a right against self-incrimination
and can not be compelled to testify.

Here's how judges generally navigate
this thorny clash of constitutional rights.

Looks like an appeal to overturn a guilty verdict is a certainty. And, that it has a chance of winning.
