Speech problems indications in natal chart

Hi

Lately I've been wondering about how inflictions with a person's speech could show in the natal chart. I've always had issues with mine and I was in speech therapy for a few months while in elementary school for those issues. Many people have asked me to speak up while I was talking so that they could hear me talk. I also talk too fast sometimes and run my sentences together because of that. My natal chart is posted below so I hoping that someone could tell me what I have in my chart that could indicate my speech issues.

theoddone,
Medical astrology isn't my strong point but a glance at your 3rd house shows a stellum of planets in there all opposing jupiter.

I was say that you mind is just so busy that it has problems just getting all that energy out verbally!

That sun/uranus conjunction speeds things up but is sextile the Asc so you should be able to express yourself OK.

Mercury (the planet of communication) is in steady Capricorn and not afflicted, so no problem there.

Maybe you could consider some voice coaching to help you speak slower, project your voice and enunciate better?

Thank you for replying, MoonInTaurus. I was wondering about my Capricorn stellium 3rd house having to do with it because Cappys seem to be reserved and stern in their expression. How would you say Sun/Uranus conjunction would express themselves in terms of speech?

And actually, I was playing around with the idea that I should go back to speech therapy to help me with my speeech problems (enunciation, voice projection).

The Sun conjunct Uranus person is someone who "marches to the beat of a different drum", non-conformist, trendsetter, innovator, really wired with lots of nervous energy. Can be aloof and detached.

None of this sits well in the sign of traditional Capricorn !

I would say that your speech might be disjointed, fast and quirky. You could be misunderstood because you can think/speak faster than other people and they can't keep up !
The Scorpio Asc will help give you self-control but, I agree speech therapy might help here to help you steady things down a bit more.

Hi theoddone, love that avatar :)

Just quickly scanning your thread, it shows you are in good hands, some really good comments. May I just add that a conjunction of Sun Uranus Neptune Saturn on the 3rd House cusp opposed by Chiron and Jupiter suggests some issues with being confronted or being pocked fun at.

The loaded Third House cusp would amplify your communication problems too. That plus Pluto is sitting in your first House would also suggest some anxiety particularly in talking in front of others.

I would suggest you take up some form of meditation, and perhaps get in touch with your Scorpio Ascendant and Pluto which may help you understand yourself a bit better.

On a positive note you would be a passionate advocate for others with needs, probably not so good for yourself but for others you would be their Champion. Good luck and I hope you find more useful comments here.

Noel, thank you for that insight! I've been wanting to take up yoga again and I've been trying to learn more about my Scorpio rising sign. What would you suggest for getting in touch with my Scorpio side?

And thank you for the compliment on my avatar. It's one of my favorite movie series. :)

I know this movie!! My sons played it over and over for about 20 years, darn it, it will come to me I am sure :)

ARMY OF DARKNESS! or is it something else?

OK, to your question, anyone with a strong Pluto, 8th House or Scorpio will respond well to meditation. Not because they are Scorpionic, but because they are driven to go underneath, to explore below the norm, never satisfied to skim the surface. Other signs / planets will also be like this, but I think the depth of the wound Pluto gives demands depth therapeutic meditation.

Phew, sorry, that was a strange word, lol, what I mean is that Pluto wounds no matter where he sits, its his nature, and the wound is psychological. And you can't heal this wound with a bandage or a comfrey compress. It requires going deeply into your Underworld, where sits Pluto on his Throne.

I would start with what you already know, yoga is a good place to start, and maybe then tai chi which directly moves chi through the body, particularly the hands and feet. Pluto rules kundalini, and getting in touch with your energy/chi is another way, but more about that if you really want to go that deep.

So I suggest you learn to meditate really deeply, so you fall asleep easily, then practice some dream work to control the dreams that will start to rise up with this sort of work, and then some deep state meditations that will introduce you to Pluto himself.

I have been there and still do this, thats how I manage my own Plutonic self, its isn't easy but then it isn't hard either, there really is no better way as far as I know. PM me if you would like, I could chat away for ever on this topic :)

Yes, Army Of Darkness. I think Ash is trying to burn the brownies out of his body with hot water. Lol.

The dreams I remember are usually dark, Halloween-type in nature, and there's a feeling of autumn undertones in them. I've had other dreams that were a bit psychic in nature and one of them inspired me to write a story, which I haven't started yet but I still remember the main details.

So if I meditate daily, it will help correct my speech difficulties?

Sweet, I guessed it! You must be a child of the 80's! :)

If you meditate daily you will begin to relax a bit, thats the first thing you should notice. After a while you will find that not only are you a little more relaxed but you sleep a bit better and are a little more relaxed at work, socialising, shopping etc. With even more practice things will shift further in that positive direction. But, it takes practice.

Your speech difficulties are no doubt related to anxiety, and given what I can see in your chart thats basically whats driving your speech problem.

If that is the case then we need to look at how to manage and eventually overcome the anxiety. I am sure that you see where I am going with this.

"How do people manage anxiety?" is the question on many people's lips and makes millions of dollars for pharmaceutical companies. But there are other ways other than drugs or dope or heroine. And thats going inside your unconscious and working with your astrological archetypes.

Yes, there are other ways, psychotherapy, naturopathy, biofeedback and I do recommend neurofeedback for ALL anxiety or depression symptoms (its what I use at work and it really works). But archetypal meditations are way more fun than anything else.

Over time, and with dedicated practice you will overcome your speech difficulties, but the underlying issues will need to be addressed first.

OK, I shall get off my soap box now and its almost time to head off for home and dinner :)

Hi theoddone & Noel,
I don't mean to hi-jack this thread - so apols in advance to you, theoddone.

Would you be prepared to expand a bit on this?

Many thanks.

I'm going to surprise you by telling you that I'm a child of the 90's but I have an odd obsession with the 80's. I particularly love the music and the movies.

I rarely talk because I feel like what I say isn't important plus with the voice issues. I had numerous ear infections as a child which ended up clogging my left ear and I saw a psychologist a few years ago for an evaluation because one of my grandmothers finally had enough with no one paying attention to some issues I was having. I ended with a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, dysthymic disorder, and a nonverbal learning disability which should not effect the way I verbalize things yet I have trouble with my communication. NVLD (as its called) causes issues with nonverbal communication and it affects my executive functioning skills in math and visio-spatial skills in drawing and driving (which I don't). I ended up on an anti-depressant for the anxiety and depression but I use a natural medicine now to manage them because I didn't like the anti-depressant. But most of my issues are neurotic-based and going back on topic, I'm going attribute to my Sun-Uranus conjunction with the Sun being placed in the Capricorn 3rd house ruled by Gemini to the astrological cause of my anxiety. I really never thought about using the astrological archetypes to help me with that. Time to research more.

Hi MooninTaurus, I will try to explain as best I can.

Pluto is the ruler of the unconscious, he is not quite the ruler of the dream world which is primarily the domain of Neptune, but more on this at a later time.

Pluto is the Roman name for the Greek mythological ruler of the Underworld, Hades. Hades is our Christian Hell. But in mythology, Hell or Hades or Pluto's Underworld, is aka the Unconscious of depth psychology, the place where reside our urges, drives, needs, instincts...

As Pluto rules the unconscious, he will show his rulership in our natal chart. His presence puts us on notice that we have unconscious urges, instincts, strengths and needs in XYZ House, aspecting XYZ Planets in XYZ Sign.

No matter where Pluto resides he cannot help but to manifest his energy, his traits and his desire to allow us access to his Underworld - our unconscious. So while we have Pluto in our world humanity will always have an unconscious, and having an unconscious means we will access it in some manner.

We access our unconscious though our dreams, Freud's "Royal Road To the Unconscious", symbols, archetypes, urges, instincts and needs. On a more psychological level our unconscious is where reside our Dragons - those fears that hold us back and torment us; our Inner Selves - those facets of us that have been splintered off under trauma; and our Magical Wishing Wells - where our potential talents, strengths and future lies waiting to be discovered and validated.

Accessing our unconscious happens when traumatised, when psychotic, it leaks through the barrier between unconscious and conscious. It is also accessed in a nicer way through dreams and meditations.

Deliberately accessing Pluto's realm is better than allowing it to leak into our consciousness without us knowing about it or when we cannot control it.

Pluto is power, he is kundalini and he is one path to our salvation from anxiety, depression etc. and a nice guy when you meet him.

I hope this long winded explanation helps.

Theoddone, that name almost sounds like a real name, the Ronan King from Lord of The Rings :)

You sure have had a very tough time in life, you deserve every assistance that we can give you, so please ask and if it is in my power I know I will help, and I am sure the other members here will too.

I agree with you, Sun Uranus and Capricorn on the 3rd cusp will definitely affect someone's communication with others. By adding Sun's conjunction with Neptune we add a degree of inability to communicate on the same level as others, and Sun conjunct Saturn we add hardship especially with any authority figure or organisation. Adding Pluto opens the discussion to the psychological issues that may broaden an understanding of your situation.

Take care and if you want pls keep asking, this is an interesting conversation.

Could you elaborate on the Sun-Saturn conjunction and hardship with authority and organizations? You also mentioned that by meditating, I could eventually meet Pluto himself...I'm not quite sure on what you mean that.

If you meditate its easier, you could imagine you can enter a cave, Pluto's Cave, a metaphor for the Underworld, and go on a walk downwards into his underground palace. You might see him sitting on his throne or walking around his underground kingdom.

The Underworld of Pluto/Hades is the modern unconscious in depth psychology, so by entering Pluto's cave you enter your unconscious. Metaphors help us get over the weirdness of it all.

Another way is to enter a calm meditative state and enter your natal chart, imagine standing in the middle of your chart and see the planets and cusp signs standing around you, in a circle. You can work with them in trance by imagining them as people, as Gods and Goddesses.

Once you see Pluto standing over by Scorpio in your first House you can walk over to him and ask him to give you a hug or ask whatever question you have for him.

OK, this is actually not that easy, I will admit that, but, if you really want to do something like this then find a therapist who knows a little about archetypal psychology, or Jungian archetypes or anyone with some skills in meditation that you trust.

I suggest that you first do some reading, research, chat with people you trust and ask lots of questions.

Personally the underworld of Pluto is not frightening, I have done it for many years, but for someone on their first journey, the unknown can be a bit scary. Stay in touch and ask away, but please understand that I would much prefer to be there to help out until you were confident to do this yourself.

I actually have a friend of mine who worships death and works with that energy, which I know is ruled by Pluto. He also meditates all the time and I'm wondering if I should ask him how he taps into that energy and manages it.

My understanding of this is that I have learn how to tap into my 1st house Plutonic energy in order to master my anxiety and depression. This has been a battle for me for over a decade and I go from being okay to full blown nervous breakdowns because that nervous energy goes into overload and affects my whole body. I do have an interest in psychology and took some college classes in it because I was a criminal justice major at the time and one of the psychology classes was required for the degree.

Also to add to the above, I have Uranus starting its transit of my 6th house which is occupied by Aries, Pluto is also transiting 3rd house. What would happen if I don't balance that negative 3rd house energy?

I'll give you an example of how this works, one of the people I help made connection in meditation with her Sun archetype. She has enormous anxiety and I thought this would help as she was also extremely sensitive and open to doing something as weird as this. The Sun was quite aloof until she asked him to take her to his home.

His Home was a palace or Monastery type dwelling that appeared to be somewhere in the upper Himalayas, very high, so high the clouds were below it. In the middle of his palace was a pool, and she is terrified of water, and I mean seriously terrified. He told her to walk into the middle and stay there.

And, reluctantly she did, finding that she would breathe in the water at the bottom of his pool. He told her to sit and meditate while at the bottom of the pool. She did, and it wasn't so scary after all.

After a while she walked out of the pool feeling fine. But the Sun wasn't finished just yet. He told her to walk out on to a ledge that hung over a cliff face, no supports, no handrail and nothing below her dangling legs. She did, he told her to close her eyes and feel rather than look, she did, and it wasn't so scary.

This lady was going through some serious anxiety attacks at work and I can only imagine that her Sun archetype wanted her to confront 'fear' in a safe environment, under his close supervision. This is not the last time he has worked with her, she does this frequently at home as part of her therapy.

Meditating with our archetypes is not hard nor is it easy, it really takes dedicated practice and self discipline to do it. I hope that helps describe what I am talking about a bit more.

yep, and notice he challenged her fears, not Pluto, she is also working with Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Pluto, but it was the Sun that did what needed to be done at that important time. Take care.
