Transit of Mars in Libra

I have natal Mars in Libra in the 8th house. I am not sure that I will feel this any differently than I feel every day. Transiting Mars will conjunct my natal Mars next week. It will then conjunct my Saturn, which is a placement I have in my natal anyway. I also have Pluto conjunct Mars. Sooooooo I think this will be like any old day for me! However, currently Mars is trine my Moon (which is nice), Venus (nice also) and Mercury (which I have natally as well)! And sextile my natal Uranus.. which is interesting because transiting Uranus is opposing my natal Mars. Nothing really feels out of whack for me, as I've had a pretty tumultuous year in terms of my career. If anything, everything seems a little calmer as of now.. as if perhaps I've weathered the storm.....OR the calm before the storm? I guess we will see.

How would you have Mars in the 8th if you're Cap rising? Mars would be in the 10th.

In the Placidus system my Mars is in the 8th house. I know you use Whole Signs, so then yes, Mars would be in the 10th. I have also seen my chart in the equal house system and I would say all apply to me in a way. Mars in the 10th is definitely relatable to me. As a child I was even driven to make money. I used to set up lemonade and iced tea stands in the summer and put signs all over the neighborhood. Then when I was in my early teens I was the go-to babysitter for the block and basically had a monopoly. I used to run little mini businesses! Ha! The one thing that has thrown me off is the shifting of the Moon when house systems change. I kind of relate to it being placed in the 4th, 5th or 6th house. They all point to need to be stimulated and/or dramatics. I used to move around a lot when I lived with my ex, but it's so annoying to pack up all of your stuff that I've stayed in this apartment for three years now (record for me as I used to move yearly). I get very overwhelmed by clutter and large tasks where objects are involved.. it's like my mind is overwhelmed and I begin to panic. This is why my apartment never gets too messy - everything has a place! So packing up all of my belongings gives me anxiety. The drama and restlessness could be due to the Mars/Uranus opposition though.

I would like to hear your experiences of this long transit. Mars will be in libra for 7 + months.

where is this occurring in your chart ? and what challenges/energy will it bring?

For those with cardinal signs this will form part of the grand cross in cardinal across your chart. So sudden significant changes are perhaps likely?

Mars is not well placed in Libra. The late Nelson Mandela had mars in libra and his book (now film) of his life - The long walk to freedom probably sums up that martian energy. The latter part of his life spent forging relationships across the world in peace and harmony but he spent a long time in prison. There does not seem to be accurate chart for him.

For me this will transit my 11th/12th houses. So time for reflection? Venus in pisces.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Some web interpretations:

For me it's conjunct my libra moon in 2nd house.
I'm literally frustrated at home.
I'm since a few months living back in my parents home and I have no privacy, and no space.
I'm trying to find work so I can finally buy my own house or at least rent some place..
Moon is involved in T square

I'm becoming more and more grateful of this Mars transit as it goes on. I can't say that I appreciate the Libra-ness of it all, but I'm thanking my lucky stars that this Mars is on my ascendant. Cutting through the b*u*l*l*s*h*i*t*!

I like airy transits since my chart is very airy and Libra Mars is still MARS! Mars transiting through the 1st house is really a big thing- lots of changes to the person's outlooks and even spurs a lot of action on the native's part to do things they've put off.

I just found out that I'm moving across state lines very soon. I had been thinking I'll move for several years now, but sure enough, it must happen when T Mars hitting my 1st house and conjuncting Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto. Everything must change and it must change NOW!!!

I empathise after 11 years I am having to share(but with strangers) still find it a bit challenging. Sensing trouble ahead with one tenant. only staying with family over christmas and this too is difficult but glad that I do not have to stay with them long term. however as for you there is a need to do this financially so keep that in mind - the end product - finding your own place.

Well, Mars takes roughly 18 months or so to go through all the signs so technically, everyone will have Mars transit their 1st house once every 2 years. That's not necessarily the case that causes people to move every 2 years...but it does give a propensity to make things happen and make it happen NOW (rather than later). There's an impatient vibe with action and that impatience could actually be the ticket to trigger accomplishments (for better or worse).

Of course, I was just speaking theoretically. As for the circumstances of my move... I'm moving into my father's house while he works over 1000 miles away. It's not exactly that I'm living with a parent since my father won't be residing in the house, but I've been living on my own since I was 17 and for someone like me who's been out on my own for 15 years, it's very unusual for me to think that I'm "coming home" but in many ways, it's true. I'm coming back to roost and Mars apparently wants that to happen.

As for my father... ironically or maybe not so ironically, he's going through his Mars return. He has natal Libra Mars in the 6th house. Mars got him in some "trouble" at work.

Angelik - what is happening that is affecting your career.I wonder if the decluttering is a sign of the cardinal grand cross. I have moved stuff back to my parents for storage and cleared out bags of stuff and gave stuff to charity/friends etc. feels a lot lighter.

It just feels really unstable and I feel like I can't trust anyone. I work in a pretty volatile environment so I feel like the rug can be ripped out from beneath me at any time. It really isn't fun. Management has changed over 5x since I've been at this company and I'm now (as of the last month or so) focusing on another area of hiring. I was hired to recruit for audit and now am focusing on actuaries. I like the change because this is a large build out and kind of a challenge but I am still nervous that if I don't really knock it out of the park that I'm done. I had some power issues with a coworker of mine who has been there 20 years so I was moved to another area. Truth be told that she didn't like me from day one so my general presence and energy must have rubbed her the wrong way. I tried to work with her but she refused to cooperate and give me equal respect. Either way I'm not sure what will happen but I don't think life will feel safe again until Saturn leaves my 10th house! I do have a lot of cardinal energy, so that could also be a factor. Venus and AC in Capricorn and Mars, Saturn and Pluto in Libra.

You're also going through your Mars return and in 10th house so there's upheavals at work brewing. Saturn messing with your MC doesn't make matters all that helpful either...
I don't care about Placidus, the latitudes are too extreme and totally distort everything.

There! I've said it!!

that does sound really unstable and a management change 5x - an indicator that things are not working out at a senior level within that company. Saturn transit to my Leo asc - brought on additional responsibilities and I was the only company representative on site for a similar type of company as you are in. High turnover of bright staff. it was very lonely time for me at work - sun in 4th h natally.

cardinal people are really facing some difficulties right now - maybe you should set up on your own and specialises in a certain area of recruitment.
hope it works out in NY.

my mum is suffereing a severe stomach virus as it turns out. my niece a libra asc has something similar.

I was a head hunter for years, but I am too emotionally erratic to have ever enjoyed it. Also this was from 2007 to late 2011. I saw the reallllllyyyy good times and the reaaaaalllllyyyy awful times. I basically cried myself to sleep every night of 2009. It destroyed my relationship at the time (well, one of the many factors lol). I am ok with earning less in exchange for stability, but it seems even stability of being a full time employee with a salary is a false perception these days... Especially with "employment at will" being a general American policy.

Glad to hers there is no major illness. There is some new "super flu bug" floating around the US now that supposedly came from Australia!

Happy New Year!

This is when I resent my parents for not being exceeding wealthy and having a trust fund set up for me. Cue the violins! But seriously, I don't think I can take being laid off again. That really did a number in my self esteem. I tie self worth to accomplishment and success lol. I will have to look into my chart in whole system a little further. I can see my moon being in the 6th house. My Saturn Return was very 8th house though - complete with therapy and everything!

Lots of big changes and upheavals on the way. maybe you need to downsize and do something less stressful. I hope that you find the way forward.
Im trying to buy a property too at this time - and banks like that secure income which I dont have. So understand how people get caught in the system. Im hugely independent as an aqua and find that contracting works for me and allows more freedom than a steady permanent role. However it also has it stresses..... with uranus transit in 6th house! For instance just prior to christmas the company I currently temp in announced volunatary redundancy across the board, they intend to cut 30% of their workforce by end of March. Ironically that has secured my role until July.:sideways:

I find that I too use placidus for transits. I like whole sign for the natal chart potential and influences. so in the whole sign I have a stellium in the 5th house - I love theatre/drama etc but in placidus it is all in the 4th. The recent transit of saturn in libra confirmed that placidus chart was correct. I have a very small 12th house but I knew when transiting saturn hit that house!:andy:

all the best for the new year.....................

My parents aren't exceedingly wealthy or even what I would consider "wealthy" but they set up all sorts of funds and accounts for me. As a matter of fact, this sounds really horrible, I haven't had to work for over the past 4 years. When I went to school, I didn't work. Even during grad school I didn't "work" either except the normal TA stuff. I'm a TRUE 8th house Mars person (in Taurus and Taurus-Scorpio are the money signs of the zodiac) where I'm living off of others' resources... in my particular case, it's been my parents. So I'm not even resting on my own laurels, but rather, my parents' laurels. Even when I was married and worked, my parents, mostly my dad still made monthly deposits into my accounts and my (then) husband's parents also sent him money. His Mars is in the 11th house... in the house of gains, so he too, is kinda a slightly a spoiled brat like me, only he's no where near as bratty as I am. We never worried about money nor measured success by it. Neither of us were concerned about success, we were just use to stuff given to us.

Granted, it's not just Mars, but seeing where Jupiter lies. I have very critical cardinal Jupiter on the AC, which is the most powerful angle. You take that into consideration with me having Mars in 8th that not only am I extremely lucky, I am lucky by shared resources, too. My ex has cardinal Jupiter, but in Jupiter's native house of the 2nd...material possessions and comforts and his Mars is in the 11th, house of gains. Well, heh. He was born into a family with pretty good money actually, and he really does reap the gains.

You wouldn't want your parents to be exceedingly wealthy and give/leave you money because you wouldn't know what it's like to appreciate what you earn. Mars in 10th people are people who are meant to be in charge of their "destiny" as in make their own fortunes. From the sounds of your chart, it seemed like you don't come from very humble origins or anything, but not riches either. For you, it's sink or swim. Mars in the 10th must make their own way, but Jupiter joys the 11th house reap the rewards of what was earned from the 10th house. I never had to know of that but I don't know or even care about "success." I'm rather lazy...simply because my father afforded that for me. You are meant to really do it and make it on your own.

I grew up middle class - definitely no privilege at all, although my parents gave me as much as they could. I do feel that I was treated differently than my younger sister though. I was told that any season I was not playing a sport or during summer that I needed to work, but I cannot say the same for my sister who has Mars in the 10th whole sign also (in Scorpio). She definitely mooches off my parents and I find it infuriating. Granted she is nearly 10 years younger than me but I worked two jobs while attending college and never asked my parents to pay for my shopping or going out on a Friday or Saturday night.

Perhaps you are right though, I find it very difficult to accept money from someone else. When I was unemployed for four months my parents wanted to help pay my rent but I refused and said I would figure it out myself.
