What sort of career/path/advice for these placements?

Wow astrologer50, I'll definitely look into it.

At age 24 i did move from an apt i was renting, to a bought apt that my father help with the down payment while i pay the note.

At age 17 i started college, but as you can see in one of my previous posts, i was wandering through different majors before i went with media art.

Now the things you mentioned concerning 'age 12'. I don't know if you are refering to me at age 12, but during most of my childhood, including age 12, my family was always moving. My dad worked for an oil company, and our family relocated to many countries in africa and europe before settling in america at age 13. At age 12 i was not living with my parents i was in a boarding school (not for getting into trouble) in england. It was life changing, but it also wasn't my first time living without my parents. prior to the boarding school i was living with a maltese family. going to school in malta.

Again i don't know if you were refering to me or talking about an example.

I did not refer to anything at age 12 and cannot see that reflected in solar arcs, poss transtis. Why would I use examples when I have a chart to use specifically? the ages were of course referring to your good self....

Now in Equal house system your natal pluto is conj 5th house cusp and is said to have more influence in 5th house matters, ie; romance, love affairs, self employment creativity. So pluto in 4th suggests one parent, controlling demanding, obsessive or even absent.

Regarding your Mars square Venus ...... this is all very basic stuff which you should already know or have studied, here's the link

Jupiter in the Fifth House
You could be successful working with creativity and self-expression through the arts and theater, in sports, or with the ultimate self-expression, children. You may find yourself a guide and teacher to others when it comes to these matters.

In scorpio you could be involved with matters to do with other people’s money and possessions. Could be interested in the occult. Good at acquiring secret information. Good fund raiser. Inheritance possible, for favours and help given to those in need.

Looking at POF and othe arabic parts are best left til last after studying and learning the basics. It's quite like learning a new language with terminology being import.

If you intend to learn about astrology, you will need to begin with a natal chart, it need not necessarily be your own, but many choose to begin this way, in an effort to better understand their own life journey, and purpose. Astrological natal charts are as individual as a persons ‘fingerprints’ depending on where (latitude & longitude) and time of birth. It is important to get your *time of your birth* as this is the most important information.

Here are my personal recommend beginners links to focus upon Natal charts:-

House systems
Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'

astrologer50,

Thanks for the info. A year and half ago i had bought the "career and vocation" and "Personal portrait" from astro.com, You said by default astro.com uses the "placidus" house system, but you use the "equal" house system. Is there a reason, as a modern astrologer, that you use the equal house system? Also since placidus is the defualt, all the readings and the daily horoscope i purchased are probably using it, right?

I have taught Equal House in Adult Education and written a diploma and am qualfied as 'guest lecturer' onboard cruise ships... If you follow some of the links I have given you you will be able to read up on the differences between the various house systems.....

Equal House System:
A simple, yet highly effective system, this was the method that the ancients used before the various unequal houses systems developed. Any table of houses may be used because once the ascendant degree is discovered, the divisions of the chart wheel are equally divided with the same degree as the ascendant on each house cusp. The signs on the cusps then follow in order around t he wheel beginning with the rising sign. There are no intercepted signs in equal houses and therefore each sign is represented on a particular house cusp. The Equal house system does not create very large or small houses that become even more pronounced the higher the northern or southern latitudes used to calculate the chart.
-The Equal House System avoids the problem with the Placidus which results in extremely uneven houses if the native should be born in extreme northern or southern latitudes.
-Each sign is fully represented on a house cusp.
-Debbie Kempton Smith the author of Secrets from an StarGazer's Notebook recommends either Equal House or Koch (unequal).
-Margaret Hone puts forth an excellent argument in favor of Equal House in her book, "Applied Astrology" which is why it is the default for SkyViewZone.
Jeff Mayo and the Faculty for Astrological Studies also favors this house system.

The default on astro.com is easily changed in Extended Chart selection, you prob have about 8other house systems to explore. A lot also depends on geographically lat & long where you live, cos high altitudes the houses become extreme, ie; some very very large and some very small. All this obviously means that certain planets move from one house to another. Thankfully all the house meanings are unilateral though.

Well it seems to make better sense to have equal house sizes. I guess i'm just wondering why Placidus is now the "standard" if originally it was equal. And looking at the stuff i bought from astro.com, i can see it too uses placidus. I'll have to look over my chart again, since some planets are in new houses. They should really give you the option to choose, what system the generated reading will use.

Joe, I have trouble making out the house cusps in your chart but it looks to me that your have Mars in the 5th, and Jupiter close enough to the 5th house cusp that many astrologers would see it operating in the 5th. Among other things, the 5th is the house of love affairs (vs. permanent relationships.) Mars in a man's chart is his masculinity and male sexuality. Jupiter is kind of a good luck factor. And we all know about Scorpio!
