We All Have Something to Offer to Each Other ~ 17th Karmapa
We human beings are all parts of the same body. Just because we do not wish to acknowledge another person’s importance does not mean that this person is unimportant to our well-being. Just because we do not wish to acknowledge what we share with others does not mean that we can separate ourselves from them. Interdependence is an inescapable truth of our existence Of course, we are not all identical. Because certain differences do exist between us we all have something to offer each other. We can work together making our diverse and complementary contributions. Because we are all part of the same social body it is in our own best interest to assure that we can all function well together. 17th Karmapa from the book "The Heart Is Noble: Changing the World from the Inside Out"
We cannot simply
learn and reflect
and then
leave out the meditation
because what it boils down to
is
that one needs to
mix the dharma with one's own mind
through meditation.
If that does not happen
then one has missed the point

There is new life in the soil for every man.
There is healing in the trees for tired minds
and for our overburdened spirits, there is strength in the hills
if only we will lift up our eyes.
Remember that nature is your great restorer.
~ Calvin Coolidge
Part II: Atomism, Emptiness, Interdependence
and the Role of the Observer in Quantum Physics and Buddhism.
Dialogue Leaders: Anton Zeilinger and Arthur Zajonc
In addition to being a scientific autobiography the Dalai Lama's book
"The Universe in a Single Atom: the Convergence of Science and Spirituality"
highlights those issues he feels are most important
in the "convergence of science and spirituality."
These issues and questions form the focus of the Mind and Life XIV meeting
and become the foundation on which a group of scientists
develop a deep dialogue with the Dalai Lama
and other Buddhist scholar-practitioners.
Are you really as good as you think? The more good you imagine you are, says Sadhguru the more that nobody else seems ok for you because your goodness is only in comparison with others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LmC5lcfvys
