Christian writers incorrectly conflated "Lucifer" with "Satan". That would be equivalent to confusing morning-star Venus with Saturn, since Lucifer was the Roman name for morning-star Venus ("Phosphorus" in Ancient Greek), meaning "Light-bringer". Christ was originally linked to morning-star Venus, as well as to the Sun.
