I have been interested in the outer planets in Astrology, sometimes called the Generational planets, as they correspond to Generational theory. Uranus, Neptune, Pluto are these planets and my primary focus at the moment is on Pluto.
Generational Theory (by Strauss and Howe):

I have in bold the sign Pluto occupied the longest in each time period.
Greatest Generation 1901–1924:
Pluto in Gemini
Pluto in Cancer
Brought transformations in the field of communications through telephones, newspapers, photography, films, and telepathy.
Silent Generation 1925–1942:
Pluto in Cancer
Pluto in Leo
Saw transformations in loyalties and the general public from world war to the underworld life of the twenties through the depression and to a second world war. It stimulates the subconscious, psychism, instincts, emotional tenacity, and protectiveness.
Baby Boomers 1943–1960:
Pluto in Leo
Pluto in Virgo
Transformations in leadership, sports, and the entertainment industries. This generation tends to have intense will, confidence, power, pride, creativity, and dramatic ability.
Generation X 1961–1981:
Pluto in Virgo
Pluto in Libra
Transformations in law, diplomacy, marriage, music, and the arts. This generation can die and be reborn in relationships with intense desires for justice, balance, and harmony.
Millennials 1982–2004:
Pluto in Libra
Pluto in Scorpio
Pluto in Sagittarius
Stimulating occultism, transformations in sexuality, mysticism, and violence from personal murders to the nuclear arms race. This generation is psychic or interested in the occult, mysteries, death, and rebirth. Sexuality was tempered by the AIDS crisis and the fear of death.
Generation Z 2005–present:
Pluto in Sagittarius
Pluto in Capricorn
Brings transformations in religion, philosophy, world affairs, higher education, and publishing such as the World Wide Web. This generation is adventurous, free-thinking, expansive and intensely interested in world affairs and philosophy.

It seems the generations receiving the most focus, in the media and elsewhere, are the Baby Boomers and Millennials. Most Boomers have Pluto in Leo, while Millennials generally have Pluto in Scorpio. Both of these signs are fixed, with Pluto being in its home sign in Scorpio.
Of course millennials and boomers are different: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/arti...d-boomers-are-different-but-not-why-you-think
Millennials and baby boomers are taught to hate each other—but they need each other to survive:

Why Millennials are more like Baby Boomers than they realize: http://nypost.com/2017/06/15/why-millennials-are-more-like-baby-boomers-than-they-realize/
