My son

Can someone please have a look at my newborn sons' chart for a moment. I just want to understand what it means for his neptune, chiron and moon being so close to the ascendant, squaring the sun and mercury. Are there going to be negative experiences in his life in regard to me, (the mum), and the father.

How nice to have a new baby!

I have to stress that a horoscope shows only a potential. I believe we make choices in life, and that these choices can affect future outcomes. I certainly wouldn't wish to goof up a little kid's life with a prediction that turned out to be mistaken, yet the parents believed in it!

I think your little guy shows signs of being a truth-seeker and a dreamer. Scorpio (sun) and Aquarius (moon, AS) are both truth-seekers, though in different ways. Scorpio needs to strip away pretense and falsehoods to see what lies beneath. However, its primary approach to life is emotional, as a water sign, so it operates through its feelings about truth and superficiality. Aquarius is more mental, as an air sign. Its operating style is through logic, and looking for evidence. As fixed signs, both of them are usually loyal to their family and friends.

Then we see that remarkable cluster of the 12th house moon, ascendant, Neptune and Chiron. Neptune can be a planet of bitter disillusionment, and Chiron can show us "where it hurts." With the first house and sun involved, it may be your son's being-in-the world that seems challenging to him, notably with the sun-NN-Mercury squares.

First-house Neptune people are so sensitive to other people's verbal and visual clues about them that they can become chameleon-like, so that each new encounter sees the person s/he wants to see.

Sun square Neptune people can struggle with self esteem issues, so your sweetheart will benefit from tons of support and encouragement from his family. This aspect can make people extra sensitive to alcohol and drugs-- something to watch out for when he gets older. Needless to say, many people with this aspect turn out just fine, and many addicts do not have this aspect.

Yet a well-navigated Neptune developes a beautiful sense of spirituality; and with a 12th house moon, perhaps even a sense of mysticism. This is a good placement for an actor, because first-house Neptunians naturally slip into different roles. If your son shows any interest in performing, be it a music recital or acting in the school play, I would suggest you encourage him. Neptune domiciled in Pisces trine a domiciled Venus in Libra suggests real artistic ability.

Also, he may take to the water and love water sports! Neptune is the modern ruler of the ocean and other water bodies; and the moon is the traditional ruler.

The NN conjunct sun and the MC is a real "I gotta be me!" placement, augmented by the Aquarian moon and ascendant, as well as by Uranus trine sun. Your son may need to be his own person at an early age. Chiron suggests he may get criticized for being outside the herd, yet the goal of Chiron is to confer wisdom and compassion. With Venus domiciled in its own sign of Libra, and philosophical Jupiter trine moon, your son has the capacity to develop real sympathy for others.

Pluto-Mars square Uranus suggests your little guy can develop quite a temper that erupts suddenly (Uranus). He may be a bit accident-prone. Uranus in the second "money house" can suggest sudden changes in income, so teaching him about money-management at an early age (saving his allowance, &c) would be a good idea.

With that Pluto-Mars sextile to Saturn-Venus, your son is capable of developing passionate emotional attachments. With Mars-Pluto in the 11th house of friendships, I could imagine him playing a school sport, and developing a real sense of loyalty to his team-mates.

Your little charmer looks like he needs to be his own unique person, so the best advice I could give would be to encourage his interests at an early age-- even if they seem a little off-beat.

A great book for astrologically minded parents is Robert Hand, Planets in Youth. I believe you can find it on-line at Astrodienst in the interactive birth chart feature.

Thanks for taking the time to look at that.

Well that definitely sounds like him. When I was pregnant with him he used to have the same patterns he has now. He would throw a tantrum and kick like crazy for a few days, and then be dead quiet the nest few days. Now he also has major anger episodes. Frustration. It could last one or five days. Then in a blink of an eye he is completely different. An angel, and your heart melts with his angelic innocent smile, like nothing happened.
In the last month of pregnancy I went swimming and noticed that the baby went silent every time. I felt he enjoyed it. I felt a sense of ease and happiness inside that I believe was coming from him. I could feel his energy. So yes I think water would be good for him.
I can already somehow see that he blocks himself out when we go out in the real world. When it comes to family he loves it, and he loves being around a lot of family members, but I can already see when we socialise with random babies and mothers, he gives them the cold shoulder. He's not interested. And he makes it obvious.
He is sensitive. I just hope his north node conjunct sun squares don't affect him too much in life.
Somehow I still worry that something will happen between his relationship with me. 2015-2018 will be a very challenging period for me and when I look at my wedding chart I see the moon will conjunct pluto in the 8th house at the same time. So im worried about how this might play out.

Abby, one good thing about learing astrology is that you can use it to moderate your relationship with your child. For example, my daughter has sun-Mercury opposite moon (is in, sun=her, moon-=me.) I worried that this might cause problems, in that she might see me as opposed to her sense of self in some way. When she was often extremely critical (Mercury) of me, I tried to relax around it-- even while maintaining a sense of discipline when she was young, and requiring respect after she grew up. I try to see her as my teacher. As you look at your son's chart and how you are likely to interact with it, you can look for empowering expressions.

A truism of modern astrology is that if we have bad experiences during a transit, or fear a transit from a particular planet, probably we haven't yet incorporated what it is in our chart to teach us. Pluto? Raw courage and self-transformation. Saturn? Perseverance in the face of limitation.

At its worst, a moon-Pluto transit might lead to power struggles between the two of you. Yet children need discipline and to be taught about appropriate boundaries so they can function in society. You might look for Plutonian experiences to share that will be more positive expressions. Pluto was the god of the underworld, who also ruled the riches found under the earth. I don't know what is in your immediate vicinity, but I would think an age-appropriate look into geology or rock-collecting might be interesting at this time. Perhaps a cave to explore, or gardening (if you have space for it) which has an old-into-new transformative quality to it. Set up a scavenger hunt. Help him decorate the house for Halloween. If he's swimming at this age, he can begin to learn diving. Anyway, lots to choose from!

With your son's moon trine Venus and Jupiter, however, your relationship should basically be solid if you can foster the love (Venus) and faith/optimism (Jupiter) side of your relationship, rather than those squares.

Do you want to post a midpoint composite chart, as well?

I think you're right about getting my son to do a lot of activities when the time comes. He needs change frequently and gets bored frequently. I can tell im going to be running around him like mad and I wont have any time to do anything around the house, or even work! I somehow feel this is what the struggle will be.

What's a midpoint composite chart. Is it same thing as multi-personal composite chart. How do I get one.

Thanks for the detailed response. Your interpretations are good. :D:D:D

You should find a composite chart on the free charts page at Astrodienst if you scroll down under the chart selection feature. I think their multi-person one allows you to do more than two people. Some people swear by the Davison composite chart, but I learned on the midpoint method and prefer it. It basically averages the 2 charts and produces a chart of the relationship.

Expect some fireworks when your baby reaches his teenage years, with that Mars-Mercury square Uranus! He may prove to be quite a handful. But so long as you recognize that this might be in your space, you can work at being the calm, loving Mom and not throwing gasoline on the flames. If your husband has better synastry with your son, he can handle some of the "tisssue tension" issues as you sweetly bake cookies or something.

One of the nicest aspects in your composite chart is the moon (emotions) trine Jupiter. In the 9th house conjunct the NN of personal growth, and with Jupiter sextiling sun (identity or purpose of the relationship) it would seem that you are both up to expanding your mental horizons through your interactions. When your son is older, discussing philosophy, religion, or international issues should be mutually beneficial.

This chart has a number of quintiles, suggesting the manifestation of talents in some way. I think you both came into this relationship with a soul-agenda of personal growth.

I think the best advice for parents is always to be firm but fair-- set reasonable boundaries and insist that your child treat you with respect. Then always express your unconditional love. Especially when children are young, this is what they need the most. It's hard for kids who think their parents' love is conditional upon acting a certain way or achieving.

Of course, you are there already!

you son is extrmely psychic. he is head strong and willhave a forceful nature that leads him into difficulties.it is very important to instill habits in him. by that i mean he needs to learn to build upon things. this uranuian impulse will spread in all directions.if his will is not channeled, he could have a turbulent. life.

you are in direct psychic contact with him, so oyu must become sensitive to this thoughts and learn to offer alternatives to his impetuosity when he is older.
speak to him directly. no baby talk.his intellect has the potential to know the unknowable. i would think that right now ,you sense that he is quicky learning the meaning of your words.

he likely will have turbuklent impulses which you will need to channel to "constructive" behavior.

he is so smart , yet he will be prey to his instinctual desires.

Thank you both waybread and rahu for your replies. Very good information, as somehow I feel this is exactly what's going to happen. I hope I can keep him focused. I have this strange feeling that when he reaches his teens he will think he's too cool for everyone and will rebel with addictions of alcohol or drugs, which is a big problem in some members of my family.
When I was pregnant, I craved alcohol which I NEVER drink and ate more sugar than I ever have in my life.
Yes we do already have some kind of psychic connection. His senses are extremely powerful. Not sure if all babies do it, but he is sensitive even to the amount of people arriving at the front of the house. His mood instantly changes before they've entered the door!
I also have a strong feeling he will be sex crazed and go against me in that sense.
Yes, I can definitely feel we have a good mental connection. He's just too testing and cheeky though!! Naughty. I feel sorry for any of the girls who will fall for him cos I have a feeling he will be a player.
In my husbands' composite chart with the baby, there is Saturn at 9th house cusp square venus in 12th house, square Jupiter in 6th house , and the Jupiter of course opposes the venus. This would be good aspects for my husband disciplining him right? - ... but the Saturn also trines the sun and moon in first house. Im guessing this is good for emotional and personal growth and maturity. North node for them is high up the top in Libra 10th house.

I’m looking at this thread again because most of what I’m seeing in my son these days is total extreme aggressive resistance. Opposition. Physical and verbal abuse from being given simple instructions. He’s 5 years and 4 months. He tells me he hates school. He hated kindy too. He says he thinks the children and teachers are stupid. No, he is not bullied. I’ve checked many times. My son looks for a friend he can be really bad with and if he can’t find someone he feels outcast. He knows his brain is different. His class is filled with well behaved children, but all my son thinks about is the opposite. His brain is wired for bad things. Hmmm, not sure how else I’ll correct it in addition to what I’ve tried. Am trying hard seeing psychologists, paediatrician, and speech and OT. The way he’s going now he will be expelled. Yes I give him loads of unconditional love. Yes I use loads of discipline techniques. He is still extremely controlling and oppositional and resistant and avoidant. He mostly gets into a rage after school. I don’t feel safe around him. He kicks me, throws objects and screams at me.

Oh and Rahul, I know he’s smart. He’s so smart he knows how to trick all of us into thinking he can’t do something, but then I’ll find out he’s th3 best in his class!! I honestly don’t know how I can channel his turbulence into constructive behaviour but I’m hoping the psychologist will help me. It’s getting impossible now. He likes being the bad body he deliberately runs across the road without looking just because he knows it’s dangerous and not what he’s supposed to do.

I’m so happy I finally found a good child mental health OT. She’s the only one who could immediately see what the issue was with my son’s dangerous behaviour. Thank god. Now I can help him be safe and enjoy life.

Thats AMAZING. I am so glad to hear that.

What did she see? Was it reactive attachment or oppositional defiant behavior?

Or was it a food allergy?

Hey, thank you for replying.

Honestly. She traced back to the initial trauma, which was the labour. Then being snatched and taken away from me by the mil etc and assessed his behaviour. She said he is experiencing extreme triggers that shut down the frontal part of the brain. That little things that happen in his day are severely triggering his early trauma if feeling unsafe and then acting that out with the person he feels safest with - me :).

Interestingly the part of the brain being affected is the part of the brain that was badly bruised due to the childbirth. I asked the lady if my son could have experienced brain damage. She seems to think no. She thinks the emotional trauma is the cause.
So she gave me only two techniques today and they are working quite well. Not once did I have a problem with my son today and he was a happy smiling playful communicative boy. Fingers crossed I can keep this going. Its challenging cos I need to find fun things to do with him ALL the time as an antidote to the high anxiety he is experiencing. Before this I didn't know how to comfort my son to calm him down but now I do and its great. Its not something I would have to do on an average kid but with my son he has a lot of severe triggers that need to be eased. Only joy/fun/laughter releases it to allow his brain to function properly. Up until now he had no idea he had done something bad eg: running across the road or smashing a window cos that part of the brain shut off. So that's why consequences rarely worked. He just didn't get why we were pu fishing him when it was perfectly clear to the rest of us and his 4 yr old sisters. Fingers crossed this is all I need. But if its only temporary then I probably would get a brain scan just to rule anything out.

Thank you aquavirgogemini.

If anyone knows enough about seeing any possible brain damage in the natal chart please let me know. I’m curious if damage was done to the frontal part of brain. I know Aries rules the the brain and ascendant ruler is Uranus in Aries. Mars and Pluto square Uranus. But... how to I see brain damage?

So now the special ed at school has approached me and they believe he has autism.

Is autism something you had considered before? Or is this totally coming at you from left field?

I had wondered about it, only because of some of your descriptions of his volatile behavior and emotional outbursts.

There are a lot of breakthrough treatments that could really help your boy if they can make a solid diagnosis.
