Pluto in Scorpio in 10th house

edit: Actually 10th or 11th, since my own pluto is at the end of house 10, so either or both interpretations could end up applying...

Can anyone offer any insight into this particular configuration? Do you have it? How does it play out for you? What does it usually indicate to the person who has this in their chart? Bonus points if you have it retrograde :sideways:

I know pluto in scorpio is more generational, so I'm more curious how it plays out in the 10th/11th house, and more so in the case that its retrograde.

Should one expect some intense personal change or inner transformation in or as a result of career or relation to society at large?

note: I'm also asking this because I can't seem to find information on this specific configuration...I can find info on pluto in scorpio, and pluto in 10th/11th, but not all 3, so I'm curious how some of you interpret this, or make the connection overall...

You have calculated your chart using the default on astro.com of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'

For me pluto is in 11th house and can suggest a loner type

Pluto in 10th House - angular
· Will need to be very much emotionally involved in the career
· A power complex is all too often indicated Ultimate perfectionist.
· High standards. Expect high standards from others.
· May feel isolated by your responsibilities
· Obsession with public image ‑ status.
· Public image and social standing important.
· Adept in dealing with those in power. Politics possible

Pluto in 11th House - succeedent
· Loner. Not lonely ‑ but aware you are alone. Very few intimate friends.
· Friends will bend your ear ‑ because they know you are good at keeping secrets.
· Lost friends through death
· Won't ask favours from friends.
· Not powerfully placed here.
· Reformist tendencies expressed in friendships and groups or will attract powerful friends.
· Great leadership qualities

you do seem to have a lot of retrogrades... plus a see-saw chart shape.

Would you say it's generally more beneficial to use the modern house system rather than classical ones? I read this thread initially because in the classical system I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 10th house, but using the modern calculation it's in the 11th house (which descriptively fits me much more closely, a loner with few friends, have lost a friend in death) and I do tend to express my radical reform side only to the few friends I have.

However my Medium Coeli is still in the 10th house and in Scorpio.

Edit: I just finished looking at my House placements using the Equal method and... wow. Quite revealing!

Using the 'classical system' Traditional astrologer don't even use PLUTO!!

Thanks so much astrologer50. I must admit that, when you first replied to one of my first queries on these forums I was annoyed that you didn't give specific answers and gave me so many links, not wanting to hear one of my least favorite words (study) but I'm learning to appreciate the depth to astrology.

No air signs in my chart, must be why I have a hard time respecting information for its own sake

the clue is in the signature. If you truely have a lack of air, look for planets in 'air houses' or how your mercury (communications) is aspected to help compensate....

Well my MC is in the 10th, but it's on the cusp so it's within Scorpio. North Node's in Aquarius, but that's not a planet. Mercury isn't aspected to anything airy, mostly just other planets in Earth and Water signs. Mercury itself falls within Virgo.

At least my North Node indicates a soul desire to correct the imbalance.

I found your chart from another thread and you have 3planets in 7th house naturally ruled by libra AIR plus pluto in 11th Equal house naturally ruled by Aquarius AIR. Your mercury is involved in a kite configuration....

Ah yes I forgot about all that 7th house activity! I have more to say but I'll reply in the other thread about my chart as I don't want to derail this one.
