Most of the people aren't raised to sit and say "Om." But meditation has gained millions of converts, helping them ease chronic pain, anxiety, stress, improve heart health, boost mood and immunity, and resolve pregnancy problems.
Any condition that's caused or worsened by stress can be alleviated through meditation.

There's stress in thinking you should be practicing a form of meditation and not having the private space, or enough time for it.

There's stress in thinking
you should be practicing a form of meditation
and not having the private space, or enough time for it.
Meditation is especially ideal to alleviate that particular form of stress
Professional meditators earn a living at it by facilitating the practice.

It’s very important to understand
what creates samsara
also called the realm of confusion

Samsara does not arise from external circumstances.
It’s not tied to any particular object
in the world around us.

What creates samsara is
how the mind habitually
clings to its misperceptions of reality.
~ Mingyur Rinpoche

The Parable of the Burning House

One day, a fire broke out in the house of a wealthy man who had many children. The wealthy man shouted at his children inside the burning house to flee. But, the children were absorbed in their games and did not heed his warning, though the house was being consumed by flames.

Then, the wealthy man devised a practical way to lure the children from the burning house. Knowing that the children were fond of interesting playthings, he called out to them, "Listen! Outside the gate are the carts that you have always wanted: carts pulled by goats, carts pulled by deer, and carts pulled by oxen. Why don't you come out and play with them?" The wealthy man knew that these things would be irresistible to his children.

The children, eager to play with these new toys rushed out of the house but, instead of the carts that he had promised, the father gave them a cart much better than any he has described - a cart draped with precious stones and pulled by white ********. The important thing being that the children were saved from the dangers of the house on fire.

In this parable the father, of course, is the Buddha and sentient beings are the children trapped in the burning house. The Burning House represents the world burning with the fires of old age, sickness and death. The teachings of the Buddha are like the father getting the boys to leave their pleasures for a greater pleasure, Nirvana.

Nothing to be grasped

~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche http://justdharma.com/s/6b8dp

When a rainbow appears vividly in the sky
you can see its beautiful colors
yet you could not wear it as clothing, or put it on as an ornament.
It arises through the conjunction of various factors
but there is nothing about it that can be grasped.
Likewise, thoughts that arise in the mind have no tangible existence or intrinsic solidity.
There is no logical reason why thoughts, which have no substance
should have so much power over you
nor is there any reason why you should become their slave.

As the Dharma takes birth in your mindstream
Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
http://justdharma.com/s/n4c5t
The teachings of the Dharma have great power
but unless you practice them properly that power will remain merely as a potential
which is never expressed.
If one has a tool and does not use it, not much will be accomplished.
An unused tool is not particularly beneficial in itself.
But if you truly put the teachings into practice
as the Dharma takes birth in and grows in your mindstream
all your faults will naturally diminish and all your positive qualities will spontaneously blossom
just as the sun, as it rises higher in the morning
gradually spreads increasing light throughout the world.

Quote from His Holiness the Dalai Lama

"Human beings are social animals.
What brings us together is love and affection
— anger drives us apart.
Just as we employ physical hygiene to protect our health
we need emotional hygiene, the means to tackle our destructive emotions
if we are to achieve peace of mind."
