Moon parallel asc! Now everything makes sense!

I found a bunch of parallels in my chart, including moon and ascendant very tightly, less than half a degree. This explains why I kept insisting that my moon IS conjunct my asc (it is 9 degrees away). No way do I operate emotionally in a buttoned up sorta way (as my moon conjunct saturn in the 12th suggests). Pretty cool. Does anyone have any info on how this might be different from a conjunction? I also found moon parallel pluto and mercury parallel nn among some others...

The only way it's different from a conjunction, from my understanding, is that it operates in a different dimension. If two planets are conjunct and one comes in and trines one, it trines the other. If they're parallel but not conjunct, it only trines one at a time.

I don't think it is too different than a conjunction. I have been learning a lot about these declinations lately (thank you Kannon!) and you are so right - once you find them so many things will click.

Perhaps you should read definitions (you probably have already) of Moon conjunct Ascendant because I don't think you will get much in the way of any parallel interpretation except in the above thread by Kannon, about conjunctions and parallels to ascendant. I've found that the meanings of regular conjunctions fit how parallels in my chart feel.

Right: I always delineate P's with the indications given in the books for conjunctions.

for me the importance of parallels is when there is no aspect natally, it adds like an extra aspect, depending on whether the planets get along or not.. max orb varies between 1' and 1'12" or max 1'30" no more..

Contraparallel :

My parallel between moon and asc is less than a half a degree away.
My "conjunction" between moon and asc is 9 degrees. Conjunction too wide to be active, parallel CERTAINLY active under 1 degree.
