Re: Saturn and intellect

For the ancients, 'riches' and 'gates of Hades' would be easily connected. Hades/Pluto, god of the underworld, was also god of wealth, because gold, silver, and gems were things dug from beneath the...

Re: Saturn and intellect

My Saturn is in the twelfth house, in Capricorn which is also the ascendant, and the Moon is applying fairly close opposition out of the sixth in Cancer. Both are strongly placed in this...

Re: 2017 Eclipse U.S.A

From NASA, here is the path of the August 1914 total solar eclipse. It moved over Eastern Europe, with the point of greatest totality in Russia. It, of course, coincided with the start of World War...

Re: 2017 Eclipse U.S.A

For better or for worse, I've already given Trump several reasons to chop off my head if he is so inclined. :whistling:

Re: Horary: Modern vs. Traditional

That the stars are in the heavens to serve as signs, is plain from the Book of Genesis. It's by no means obvious that the planets cause anything, though.

I tend to think of the heavenly bodies...

Re: 2017 Eclipse U.S.A

Traditionally, eclipses generally don't bring good news. From the excerpts on the Skyscript site (http://www.skyscript.co.uk/eclipserules.html):

Of particular interest is the fact that the...

Re: Will I lose my mind?

I don't see any major signs of mental illness in your chart.

Mercury is not necessarily a happy camper in Taurus, but he rules both your ASC and your MH. He is favored by Jupiter as well

Re: how to In sect, out of sect, hayz & bulb?

There are three elements to sect: the chart as a whole, the sign of a planet, and the position of a planet.

The chart is diurnal if the Sun is above the horizon. If below, the sun is nocturnal....

Re: Will there be another attack in the UK this bank holiday wkend ?

All I did was look at Lilly, and Avelar and Ribiero, to find what locations were represented by the signs Mars and Saturn were in. All I really updated was the spelling.

Re: what is the concept of modern astrology?

Modern astrology tends to be psychological; classical astrology tends to be more predictive.

Modern astrology is 'sign centered'. A modern delineation of a chart will begin with 'your Sun is in...

Re: Saturn and Traditional Astrologers

I was thinking specifically about contemporary identity politics, which does seem to be basically Aquarian in tone. Piety and blasphemy seem to revolve around race and 'gender' issues in the...

Re: What is the North Star??

Because of the extreme latitude of the North Star, it is particularly difficult to assign to a degree of the ecliptic. Astrotheme gives its coordinates as Polaris 2831' Gemini N6610'.

IIRC...

Re: Venus in detriment ? How would she act.

That's certainly a valid interpretation. Venus in Aries could become quite self-centered and assertive, though I hesitate to call such a woman names.

Re: Saturn and Traditional Astrologers

In my understanding, Aquarius is about group identities, and about putting those identities before individuals.

We seem to be witnessing the birth of new political religions with this as a major...

Re: Will there be another attack in the UK this bank holiday wkend ?

By my reckoning the Mars/Saturn opposition becomes partile at 2:42 AM local time (EDT +4) early Monday morning, which would be 6:42 AM UTC. Locally, when the aspect perfects, Saturn will be close...

Re: Will there be another attack in the UK this bank holiday wkend ?

I suspect it's rather rare (and quite bad for the world in general) for Mars and Saturn to be moving to oppose each other this way.

Mars in Gemini is aiming at London, northwest Italy...

Re: Will there be another attack in the UK this bank holiday wkend ?

Viewing the chart as much as a mundane chart as a horary, the most significant thing would appear to me to be that twelfth house Mars. Mars and Saturn appear to be applying towards one another,...

Re: Saturn and Traditional Astrologers

Saturn is quite prominent in my own nativity. I am attracted to traditional astrology and techniques, largely because I am attracted to the clarity and plain English of classical judgments. I do...

Happy birthday, Elias Ashmole

Today is the 400th anniversary of Elias Ashmole's birth (http://collation.folger.edu/2017/05/happy-birthday-elias-ashmole/). Very nice article from the Folger Shakespeare Library.

Re: How to survive the Saturn Return?

My own Saturn sits at 5 Cap, and is rising into the twelfth house on my natal chart.

I don't particularly fear the coming Saturn Return. At around 30, I moved to a different firm, which made my...

Re: league of Legends

I sometimes play Age of Conan and Guild Wars 2.

Both of those, though, are poor substitutes for City of Heroes.

I don't play PvP oriented games, though.

Talking Mental pictures of the planets

Just for fun, what are your mental images of the planets?

The formula I learned was that 'planets are actors, signs are roles, houses are scenes or sets.' This seemed then and now to act as an...

Re: Am I out of depression

Got to agree. The fact that Mars, ruler of the ascendant, is applying to oppose Saturn, the natural ruler of melancholy, does not help either. Venus rules the 12th house here, which probably ought...

Re: Heavily debilitated Saturn behaving WELL?

I'm not sure you want Saturn particularly strong.

This chart is my own natal:

Re: Am I pregnant?

I suppose that since Virgo is the barren sign par excellence, it makes little difference whether the pregnancy is welcome or not if it's rising.
