exclusive of DEGREE

The example of "if Sun is 3°"
did not state the Sign of the Sun - only that Mercury is Aries :smile:

that is an opposition by DEGREE
BUT NOT by SIGN

i.e.
that is an out of sign opposition...

Nothing in a chart is unaspected. You would have to say unaspected by the major planets using only ptolemaic aspects.

Aspects by sign are the original aspects. But you should use the together with whole sign houses only.

Essentially, yes they have no major aspects.

HOWEVER, the midpoint of the Sun/Mercury is opposed to the Uranus. So you have the same energy that would be found in an opposition of Uranus to Sun...
