Re: How Powerful Is Your Sun Sign, Really?

As Oddity pointed out, the personality characteristics aren't something that's really stressed in classical astrology. They are mentioned, but usually are more focused on the Ascendant sign than the...

Re: When to exercise and workout?

Hi AstroAries

It isn't necessarily "original", but it isn't something that is done a lot. A couple of years ago I started scheduling my days out around the planetary hours. This kept me from...

Re: When to exercise and workout?

From what I understand, this sounds like a good way to make someone obsessive over something. Excessive Exercise Disorder is a pretty scary thing (when I was a tyke my stepdad was a personal trainer...

Re: When to exercise and workout?

Okay, cool. You could work out during the hours of Mars or the Sun, but I don't recommend both since they follow each other. You'd probably tire yourself out.

Remember; 8-10 reps for size, 12-15...

Re: When to exercise and workout?

Coming from a strictly functional perspective, you were much better off exercising during the hour of Mars since it happens everyday. Unless of course you're saying you were working out with the...

Re: Is Pluto an astrological planet?

Hi Waybread,

You're missing the point in both of these cases.

Firstly, if you really think the IAU re-definition hasn't had a profound impact on the way we look at astrology you are in...

Re: Is Pluto an astrological planet?

Hi Waybread,

Ah, sorry. It was getting late and I wanted to respond before I thought I responded but didn't. I guess it didn't work out that well. Let's just take it step by step, but...

Re: Is Pluto an astrological planet?

Waybread,

The issue I have with those proposed definitions is that they are terribly subjective criteria. They would work for one astrologer, but not for others in way that emphasizes the divide...

Re: Exaltation vs Rulership and Fall vs Detriment

Hi Julian,

Yes, I see there is more posted below the phrase I quoted, but that isn't an argument. That's data, information, possible evidence to back up a claim. What I'm missing is the claim...

Re: Is Pluto an astrological planet?

One thing I can't recall having seen anyone on this thread do is offer a definition of what a "planet" is in such a way that would account for Pluto and not necessarily open up the flood gates for...

Re: Avoiding events.

A little late to this party, but I just wanted to share some thoughts on this as this question you have has become something of a philosophical divide among many practitioners.

From a...

Re: does anyone have a legitimate, serious horary question?

The "correct" calculations of the charts aren't really important. We know the hour lord of the charts because Lilly writes them in the middle of most of his charts so we know he knew what they were....

Re: does anyone have a legitimate, serious horary question?

Excellent.

There are three different methods; hard, easy, so easy it's stupid.

The hard method is that you'd have to take the times of local sunrise and sunset, figure out how many minutes is...

Re: does anyone have a legitimate, serious horary question?

Hi Yuri,

You say you shared your thoughts that they were unreasonable questions, but the questions I cited were life-or-death scenarios. Certainly they are understandable questions to ask, so the...

Re: Why moon is ALWAYS VOC?

Thank you very much!

I've heard she cites no sources, is that correct? If it is, then she likely did start the whole "void moon means nothing comes of the matter" schtick.

Re: does anyone have a legitimate, serious horary question?

This isn't really answering my question. Unless, of course, you're saying that the charts presented in the texts of these authors are not serious, unimportant, or shouldn't be focused on. That's a...

Re: Why moon is ALWAYS VOC?

Ah, then that's why. This is the more modern definition of void of course, and by following it the Moon will be void every couple of days for some length of time.

Also, this;

is a more...

Re: does anyone have a legitimate, serious horary question?

Guido Bonatti was the first to write about the hour ruler and Ascendant ruler agreement.

What are your thoughts on the charts by Lilly that don't have hour/ascendant agreement?

Re: Known Outcome Horary: "Will we reconcile? Will I travel?"

Okay, so here's the way I went with this chart and what ended up happening.

It's important to remember that in a lot of cases, simple yes and no answers just are not going to cut it to keep your...

Re: John Frawley horary lectures

Frawley is something of a controversial figure in horary specifically and in astrology in general. Every now and again he misunderstands a technique, but more frequently he pushes his own religious...
