He was 64, single, with no children. He had contracted a really bad case of pneumonia 2 1/2 years ago and never fully recovered from it. I tend to grieve alone, and stay as cheerful as possible...

Just heard from the U.S. Consulate in Bali that my brother died from Covid-19. The airport test he was given when he left from L.A. was just for symptoms, not for the virus itself.

Covid isn't so much deadly as it is contagious. It's the huge rate of infection that causes the relatively low 2-4% fatality-rate to result in so many fatalities. Meanwhile, with our weakened immune...

Here, they mount them unobtrusively on telephone poles, which also carry electrical and computer wires. Someone actually set fire to a telephone pole near where I live--no electricity for 3 hours.
