The planets aren't large enough to block the Sun. They can be seen on the Sun as black spots, with Venus as a "beauty mark". :biggrin:

No, my bad. I didn't read it carefully enough--only for the "Inferior" cazimi is Venus always retrograde.

You're right. The article I read that in was wrong. Venus was Direct during her last cazimi Aug. 13th, 2019.

I'm seeing Mercury cazimi in tropical Scorpio on Oct. 27, 2016.

Venus cazimi this year on June 3rd, and with the 8 year cycle, there was one on June 5th in 2012.

Are there Signs in which Mercury and Venus CAN'T be cazimi for an astronomical reason? Sounds unlikely.

No, I meant that for a planet to be cazimi by latitude, it would have to be extremely close to its node.

In that case, cazimi for Mercury requires that Mercury must be nearly at its own node, which is in the plane of the ecliptic as delineated by the Sun. Very rare occurrence, then.

Jupiter cazimi in Capricorn would suggest a different result than Jupiter cazimi in Sagittarius, for example.
