The wise words of Vettius Valens

Was just browsing today the anthologies, and re-read this paragraph:

Since I wished to set out brief explanations of these...

Re: Cazimi - when?

Did you check an ephemeris?

urano fwiw I tend to agree with Sahl that cazimi is within one degree, and I've had a couple of horary charts where this bore out.

Lin, I'm certain it's impossible...

Re: Significator In detriment but Cazimi

Hi Amie ~ cazimi is rare
What I find even more interesting is that the bright fixed star Regulus
is arguably within three degrees of the Sun
Whether that is within the province of Horary...

Re: Is Pluto an astrological planet?

Interestingly, Kns commented earlier during this discussion, that, apparently at the time there were two plutos
One of the plutos was a hypothetical planet
and 'the other pluto' was the...

Re: Will I Meet my Future Husband in the Next 2 Years?

It is much better than "less afflicted." Cazimi is extremely favorable. So that is in your favor. While there is no aspect between you as Mercury to Jupiter, you as Moon applies to a lovely...

Re: Is Pluto an astrological planet?

To continue with the off-topic then. I'd be wary of judging a chart like Hitler's chart as evil if I saw it cold. Because you know there had to be other people born right around the same time and...

Re: Isn't Venus in Libra is supposed to be good?

Seems that he also didn't know that anyone familiar with birth charts can figure out someone's age by the position of the generational planets, even if the birthdate isn't included with the chart.

Re: Am I a plutonian?

Not necessarily ~ the house location of any natal planet
is dependent simply on the chosen house system

Nevertheless,
Since both Mars and Ascendant are Virgo
then Mars is located in...

Re: HELP. What house/planet rules food?

I would go with second house, in a horary anyway, if we're talking about food generically. It sustains the body, which is house 1, and house 2 is sustenance, material wealth, and vassals (those last...

If you are sleeping with him, he is represented by the seventh house.

I think you could only use the fifth house in this situation for someone you don't know - and if you are going out to pick up...

Yes, and sometimes to Mercury as well. You'll find that all of the characteristics given to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were once assigned to the seven visable planets.

Yes. Traditional...

Re: People are too harsh on Saturn

Yes, but we're trying to give examples of a second house malefic. Having Mars in 2 wouldn't be unheard of for making money by physical damage, but Saturn seems a bit more likely. A lot of the sports...

Re: People are too harsh on Saturn

I think you're confusing foul play with harm, though that can be the case as well.

With Saturn it will be something noticeable. And do remember that in trad astrology not all planets act all the...
