Personally, a 12th house Sun doesn't sound very happy to me, no matter what sign it's in. The 12th house isn't a very happy place to me.

I associate the 5th house with happiness more than any planet or sign.
For planets, Jupiter does seem the "most happy" and I say this due to its transits more than anything else

I have a 6th house stellium... in Scorpio... opposite a Moon/SN conjunction in the 12th house, Taurus. No personal planets in the 8th house but Uranus and Neptune are there squaring my Sun and Merc....
