Publishers for Astrology Books

Any publisher suggestions for an astrology book that spans both astrology and medical? I'm still in the midst of research but, I have some really nice studies on seizures in dogs that I want to publish.

Also, even though I have a kindle (ipad and so on), I find that I don't use it for my serious reading. I use it for checking the web, email, facebook, reading magazines, playing games and so on. All my serious reading is still done with regular books. Is that also true with many of you or do you find that you are starting to use the kindle, ipads, mobile for your reference astrology material?

I use both. If I can find it in digital format, I will use a kindle or iPad. It is, hands down, the better way of reading. When I was studying journalism, it was the new thing, and now, it is the way; it is the future.

As for publishing, you should check out ISAR and NCGR, unless you have a collection of studies or work that you would like to see published as a book. I should be published in ISAR this coming year.

Of course you can self-publish, and that is always an option, especially if you have not made a name for yourself. But you can send your manuscript to Llewelyn, Wiser, ect. That's how you go about it. Contact an agent. You also have the various astrological magazines. You should start soliciting and selling yourself and product.

I've actually set up to do self-publishing for the book. I keep much more of profits if I don't use a publisher. I would need a book rather than electronic version as the charts would not be very clear on a kindle. But, a slight delay is cropping up as I have to check whether the results of my study are patentable which they may be.

I might also not move ahead with the book and simply sell reports for people that have seizures.

Yes, marketing is difficult although you run into that issue with traditional book publishers because in today's market, most are leaving the writer to market their own book.

Estimates are that 2.2 million Americans have epilepsy - that's a big target audience. On top of that, there are a fair number of neurologists and seizure specialists that would probably be interested in the data.
