Timing and relocation

Hi, I'm a student of astrology and particularly interested in locational astrology. Can you recommend good books and/or websites to learn all about this subject?

I was also interested in learning more about the *timing* of a move, or when a good time to visit a potential good place and when to make a major move. I know according to some one is supposed to avoid starting out on the void-of-course Moon, or when Mercury is retrograde. Going at a time when the Moon is in or near one's sun sign and avoid going when the Moon is in the sign opposite one's sun sign. Beyond that, do you put more weight on transits or progressions, or what other factors?

Can anyone recommend a good locational astrologer, one you've personally used that was helpful and/or helped you learn more about this subject?

Thanks

The bible of relocation astrology is Jim Lewis' The Psychology of Astrocartography published by Penguin Arcana. Anyone even remotely interested in this branch of astrology should have this book. Noone has done abetter job in explaining the influences of the different planets.

You need to be careful about who you consult because location astrologers fall into two very different groups: astrocartographers that look at the natal chart an then consult the astro map for additional information on places, and relocational astrologers who look at the relocated natal chart.

You need to make up your own mind as to which suits you best. I've had consultations with Elliot Tanzer and Martin Davis, and both are good and experienced astrocartgraphers

As regards timing, look at transits and progressions and make sure they don't make negative aspects to planets that are angular in your target location.

Take note of yearly eclipses that impact 4th House/ruler of 4th and planets aspecting 4th ruler
