Why am I not trying to hide my beauty despite Venus in the 12th house?

Hi! Thank you for visiting my topic.
I read that people with Venus in the 12th house tend to hide their beauty and how beautiful they can be.
But it´s different for me. I like to hide my feelings for a long time, not to talk about my income, but it is very important for me to dress beautifully, do makeup, style my hair. My nails and eyebrows are always done. When I don´t feel beautiful, I want to hide so that no one can see me. But when I know I look good, then I´m ready to conquer the world lol
I know that this is due to the fact that at school I was bullied too much for my appearance, which is why I am so afraid that someone will consider me ugly again. I wonder what in my natal chart "overlaps" the desire to hide the beauty inherent in Venus in the twelfth house?
Maybe this is due to the fear (12th house) of appearing ugly, unlike Venus in the first house, who will looks beautifully not because of fear, but because this is her natural state. Or because my Venus has aspects to the public tenth house (but the sextile to Mercury should influence speech more than appearance)? Or because there is a creative component inherent in the twelfth house in choosing clothes for the image and making makeup. I don´t know! But I´m very interested, what do you say? Thank you very much ♡

House calculations are calculations and not universally agreed upon. Try one based on space rather than time.

Gigi Hadid has Venus in Aries in the 12th. Venus is highly energized in Aries.

I am guessing you have a high latitude (northern) birth. In quadrant house systems like Placidus, this can really skew the houses. Try doing your chart in the whole signs or equal house systems, and notice how your Venus moves to another house. Basically your 12th house Venus is an artifact of the default house system at Astrodienst.

Regardless of the house system, you would probably keep your moon in the first house. This suggests that your emotions are very tied up in your personal appearance and outward personality.

If you like to be beautifully dressed, made up, and coiffed, because you feel happy that way, that's great.

I think most people these days are a lot more casual about their looks, believing that real beauty comes from within.

I note that you have a natal sun-Pluto square. This aspect seems to be common with people who were bullied as children. They grow up not expecting the universe to support them. However, a more empowering interpretation of sun square Pluto will be to see yourself in a state of ongoing self-transformation.

I just now noticed that I added an old screenshot where I erased my data.
Yes, I was born at 59° latitude. I read that Placidus is valid up to 60°, but you're right, I have very wide sixth and twelfth houses. In the systems that you have listed, my Venus falls into the 11th (whole signs) and 10th (equal) houses. I didn't think about the Moon, thank you!
I agree that real beauty comes from within, but it feels like no one wants to know the inner world if you're ugly. At least that's how it was with me, lol
Thank you very much for the inspiring words ♡

Hello Alisanik,

taking into account all that is said previously, Venus may not be located in House XII but in House XI or in X. On the other hand Saturn will always be located in XII whatever the house system. So Saturn and its square aspects to Uranus and conjunction to Jupiter (ruler of VII) must be considered, in my opinion, in relation to your remarks. You will also notice that Saturn is in the sign of Taurus which Venus rules. It is of course also necessary to consider Moon in I as said previously. To add to the whole, if Venus is in X its significance is more important because it is emphasized. I hope that from all this you can get a clearer idea.

I think the latest solution to the high latitude quadrant house system issue is to use the Vertex as the Descendant (cusp of 7th house) and create Equal houses, including a new Ascendant, from that. Check out David Cochrane on his YouTube channel or website for that discussion.
If it were me, having that new Ascendant (ie the opposite point from the Vertex) and the original valid Midheaven, I would probably try a Porphyry -like system using the MC and the Vertex-derived Asc.
Or just for grins IM me your birth data (no personally identifying or current location information, please; nothing that would allow anyone to identify you) and I'll return it or post it here.

It's an interesting astrological problem. In this case the Vertex-Descendant equal house (NOT a so-called whole sign house) chart seems to make a lot of sense.
BTW, all the experimentally minded astrologers out there, forget about the Porphyry type calculations. Not worth the trouble.
Alisanik, check out your 2nd house, too. Make sense?

Basically, I think the solution is to develop your self-confidence, Will you ever feel beautiful enough to think that people will like you for who you are? As I mentioned above, people with sun square Pluto were often bullied as children. They grow up with difficulty in trusting other people. They tend to see inter-personal relationships in terms of power dynamics: who gets to dominate whom.

You are beautiful just the way you are. You don't have to look a certain way in order to feel accepted by people whom you mistrust. It's time to trust yourself.

I live at 60' latitude.
Placidus get often out of line here imo.
I think Porphyry house system or Alcabitius housesystem gets more decent house cusps.
And your Venus would be in 11th probably.
Whole sign house system is also good I think. Then it's a 11th house venus as well.

Placidus sucks ! Lol
But many people living here use Placidus anyway, out of habit or being exposed to Placidus all the time
in books and online.

Also your ascendant ruler Mercury is in exact sextile to venus which gives opportunity (sextile) to
go for beauty in your self expression.

You might check out the Antivertex/Vertex idea as an alternate ascendant/house system that I alluded to above. It might have some promise for you, or in your work.
