I doubt if Putin is using any astrological or other divinatory methods in running Russia or this war. Also, Sirius can on occasion give a very malign influence to events-it is a star that can cut either way.

One of the mundane charts for the independence of ukraine has the sun in the sign of taurus; note that Uranus entered Taurus a couple years ago-Taurus is the fall of Uranus (according to modernist astrology) and Uranus is (co-ruler) of Aquarius (according to some modernists) and Aquarius is affinitive to Russia in political astrology. Uranus in its fall in Taurus might partially explain why Russia has been having such a tough time of it in conquering ukraine.

An interesting thesis.

Taurus loves stability. Uranus rules sudden change-- and liberation.

I don't know about detriments, falls, and exaltations in modern astrology, but there does seem to be a sign-planet mismatch here.

Uranus advances to 18 Taurus, then goes retrograde on August 25, all the way back to 14 degrees 56' in January 2023, when it turns direct.

I use the Astrodienst chart for Vladimir Putin (Oct. 7, 1952, 9:30 am, or the Isaac Starkman 9:35 am rectification.)

Transiting Uranus doesn't seem to mess to seriously with Vladimir Putin's chart during this period, but it will square Volodymyr Zelenskyy's natal moon at 17 Leo and his natal Uranus in Scorpio quite a bit. Which I guess is to be expected even if/when Ukraine prevails.

Saturn seems to be Putin's major nemesis, with solar arc Saturn hitting his natal (militaristic) Mars, and transiting Saturn hovering around his natal IC/opposite MC-Pluto.

If any of you do primary directions, hopefully you can get a better read than I did.

Looking at the astrodatabank Putin chart, I noticed Scorpio on the asc, sun inn 12th in its fall in libra, mars rising in the 2nd in fiery Sagittarius, with Pluto the most elevated planet, conjunct the mc.

Seems to me that mars/Pluto=the rulers of this nativity, which accords with the history of this man. 2 stars have connections in this chart; one, the malefic algorab conjunct the already detrimented sun; and one of Draco’s eyes, etamin, a powerful influence on chart co-ruler mars via close conjunction.

Keynotes: Pluto/mars chart rulers, sun in fall and afflicted by algorab, Venus in asc in detriment in Scorpio, Pluto conjunct mc, co-ruler mars made more fiery in Sagittarius rising in 2nd house, mars conjunct etamin, one of the eyes of Draco, potential for showering evil over the whole world…

As a Modernist astrologer, I consider Mars strong in Scorpio, but not domicled. The 3 most recently discovered astrological planets each has its own domicile-Sign. Two planets, Mercury and Venus, are accorded two domicile-Signs, because, as the only planets inside of Earth's orbit, they regularly appear as both morning and evening "stars".

So, planets CAN have two domicile-Signs, but no Sign has two major astrological planets as domicile-planets. That's how it's always been.
