Traditional: Career?

So I have no idea what I want to do for my career. I think I'm going to end up just floating through life doing nothing.

Any ideas?

I hope I don't grow up to be a potter...

So in other words, no one has any idea...

most of us here use outers (uranus, neptune and pluto) perhaps if you were to include them, more would contribute:innocent:

failing this here are some links for research...

Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.

Researching rulers of houses will help you understand more where I joining the dots so to speak

Success is not indicated by the 10th house and certainly not by the 6th. http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_dgsixthhouse_e.htm There are lots of indicators of success, the main ones being the Arabic Parts or Lots (synonymous terms.) However, any beneficial/easy planetary aspects help. Hard aspects can help too, depending on what and where they are.

Also, this is title "Traditional:Career?" thus why he didn't use outers. But I prefer to use them. It makes a lot more sense when you're dealing with Aquarius, Pisces and Scorpio.

For a traditional career reading your horoscope is not difficult. You have Venus in the first house, and it is the one obvious significator of your career if you care to have one. Venus rules the 10th house.

Venus is also in mutual reception with both the Sun and Mercury. The Sun is always the natural significator of career, but in this case is fallen, in the third house and afflicted by Mars. The reception will not help it too much. This is probably why you cannot see an obvious career path. Mercury is in better condition being in its triplicity. It has led you to study astrology and I am sure you know other subjects.

The Moon is the tripicity ruler of the 10th house as well as exaltation ruler. In the 8th house it may take some time to get moving, but it does have strength there. Also it is in Hayz and with the ascending node. This is favorable for the Moon. Both the Moon and Venus behold the 10th house. Mars sextile Jupiter in the same degree should assist you along the way as these are both strong planets and in fortunate houses.

So what does Venus do: artist, entertainer, florist, interior decorator, jeweler, musician, tailor, clothing, hotels, theatres, amusement parks, places that serve food and drink and all things especially produced for women. In addition the Moon rules all maritime occupations, commodities, supermarkets and places that provide provisions and all the general stuff people need. And natives with Leo rising often are promoted to positions of authority and management. They well could become politicians.

Thank you Culpeper, that is what I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time to actually write all that up and read my chart.

It's interesting that I feel most comfortable working in a convenient store (well, most comfortable for what you can do without a college degree) where I can "serve food and drink" (Venus) and "provide provisions and all the general stuff people need" (Moon) at the same time, as well as easily being promoted (because hey, it's certainly not difficult there).

Astro50, I put Traditional in the title because I didn't want people asking me for the outer planets...

Any member and answer ANY thread irrelevent of what the title suggests!:rightful:

While we are discussing 6th house, this describes the type of work you do and health and daily routines. So why would you focus solely on 6th and ignore the mainstream theories of MC being career??

Work and 6th house
I just found this site/link which looks directly at 6th house cusp, planets, rulers etc. very enlightening...
http://www.astrologyinserbia.com/e/index.html
"My first day at work cusp of the 6th house”
You can even turn the chart so 6th house cusp then becomes the Asc and read the chart for work, it's called looking at 'derived houses'

Well you obviously have it all sewn up, so why did you make this thread? have you no aspirations you wish to aspire to? other than convenince store service?

If looking at 'Lots' i would also recommened POF

“However, in the case of both significations one must keep in mind that no one indication in the chart, not even the Part of Fortune, can be taken by itself as a total indicator of any area of life. For health one must also look at the Ascendant, its ruler, the Moon and its ruler. Also the sixth and eighth houses as indicators of illness and death respectively have strong indications for health. For material prosperity one should also look at the second house, the tenth house, and their rulers.”

POF cont/...

“The fortune indicated by this part is not necessarily materialistic or even tangible, though it can be. It depends on the sign and house location of the Part of Fortune. The benefit can be on the physical, intellectual, emotional, and/or spiritual plane of experience. In all cases it is through the cultivation and expression of this point that one will experience harmony and a sense of well-being.”
http://www.astroresources.com/fortune.htm

“The Part of Fortune represents worldly success, and is associated with the physical body and health as well. It can be indicative of the career or vocation. Worldly success and prosperity are associated with the Part of Fortune, and both its sign and house placement suggests innate abilities and talents--areas of life and qualities that are expressed naturally.”
