Hi, This thread gives a very basic glimpse into Astrology in a simplified and fun manner through analogies. Do you know your 'Sun or Zodiac sign'? Then you know that planets are the building blocks of Astrology. But what does each planet tell us? How is Saturn different from the Sun? In addition to the Sun and the Moon (often called 'the lights'), there are 8 other planets integrated in our birth/natal charts. And, this is where my birth chart starts, the Ascendant (determined by your time of birth). The rest can wait.;) The Ascendant: is the main gate of the house (= your self) or the entrance. This is like the first greeting or the entry into your world that others get, those first impressions. The Sun: is like the front porch or verandah, maybe even the roof top of the house, whereunder all the rest happens. Now the life starts in the house, as others get a step closer to the house (= you, your basic being), but are still not inside (=they do not know all about you). Do I want to let them into my world? Venus: step into the living room, decorated according to my tastes. This is where the socialising starts, and relationships are formed. But how far do certain relationships go, whilst others are kept superficial or sent away from the living room itself? The Moon: this is like your bedroom or even the kitchen, the most personal and secure areas of the house (= of you), wherein only those you trust, feel emotionally close to like the family, are let in. This is where I can be my true self.
