The 8 trigrams of the I-Ching and Astrology

Each of the eight trigrams of the I-Ching relates to a planet in Astrology and also to a Chakra and its colour, and these systems share the same distribution of properties and qualities because they are based on the same universal principles. (A table of correspondences is attached.)

The eight trigrams are each arranged in particular positions within the octagonal bagua and that very positioning determines the qualities of any particular trigram, which is down to the NSEW directions. Each trigram is actually a number written in binary code and the trigrams ascend in numerical order 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 like the chakras. The lines in the trigram are built from the bottom up. (Diagrams are attached.)

For more information please read the full article on this subject here.

The I-Ching bagua is a miniature representation of the UNIVERSE. The east is on the right of the bagua because this is a map looking outward at the universe like a sky map. (A sky map supposes you are lying down facing the sky with your feet in the north, head in the south, west on the left, and east on the right. An earth terrain map supposes you are lying down facing the earth so it has east on the left).

Thanks dr.farr

Not too many people take an interest in I-Ching trigrams here on this forum. But it does give a very important insight into Astrology and vice versa.
