Temporary YOD? Is this valid?

I hope someone can help me with the following. I've done some reading about the YOD but I'd like to know if the temporary YOD in my chart, created by transit Saturn at 29 degrees Libra, is valid.

My natal sun is at the apex at 29 Pisces and makes quincunxes to natal Mars at 27 Leo and transit Saturn at 29 Libra. Mars and Saturn makes a sextile.

I am feeling a lot of stress for change lately that I just cannot pinpoint in my chart. Is this creating it?

My chart is here.

The chart does not work. :pinched:

Hi Flowergirl,
I've always read that temporary Yods by transit are indeed valid. That being said, without a chart to look at it's very tough to interpret (yods are tough anyway...).

I'm glad that it is valid, thanks for responding. Please let me know if the link to my chart is not working. It should be accessible :

Thanks Stillone. After some investigating, I have put my chart on a third party site, so they are available here:

I still can't figure out why my AW album charts are not available for public viewing, even after I've changed the privacy settings to Public, but I'll leave it there.

Hi Flowergirl,
How is this transit going? I would think that a Saturn transit forming a Yod to your Sun in the 1st house would be pretty apparent (angular house). It is most likely rather confusing perhaps? The quincunx aspect is traditionally known as asking for an adjustment.

I think a yod to your natal Sun might give insight to a particular path or destiny. Perhaps making you feel like an adjustment is necessary in your current life path. This may not be recognized until the transit moves out of orb...?

I would consider taking time to meditate or other type of introspection/contemplation and see if your soul is speaking to you in some way.

Good luck and let us know what you find!

Thanks for your insight Stillone. This is exactly what is going on.

I am confused by the internal pressure for change in life path that is currently going on. I have made some adjustments that I can see the benefit of already but it is like I am still waiting for some missing puzzle pieces. I can't quite see clearly what needs to be done, though I've had some inspirations. I am having headaches about trying to figure how this will work in the practical world. Maybe the best thing is to meditate and let the urgency for resolution go.

I will mark the end of this transit on the calendar and see how it unfolds. It's interesting that the NN is also within close orb of this Yod. Would you personally consider it as part of the Yod?

Thanks again.

I know you didn't respond to me but... I wanted to return to this thread, so I hope you don't mind if I jump in here. I have learned a lot from this thread and about this aspect myself. I have some other thoughts to add too. Again, I'm just throwing out my ideas... don't want to interrupt! Considering that Saturn is now in retrograde, definitely sitting and meditating is in the cards, since this is pretty much a "slow down" kind of an influence. I might imagine it has something to do with the Mars-Sun natal contact you have. Mars is your drive, and it is worth noting that it is trine your MC, whereas your Sun, your Ego, is square your MC, meaning that you may have struggled with trying to figure out how to align your drive with your purpose, and that you probably end up doing things, self-sacrificing a whole lot more than you would like. Maybe this temporary yod is giving you an opportunity to really focus in on this. It's in the 8th house so maybe its saying something about you being limited in your opportunities to be so self-sacrificing. The NN is interesting in that it could very much be connected in that it is in Leo, the way of the ego, and in the 6th house, the way of service for the sake of service and for the need for things to get done, plain and simple, doing service in the immediate sense, of which Pisces, being energetically opposed to this style of giving, being concerned with the spiritual, rather than material impact. Neither is better nor worse than the other of course, but equally important, but with Saturn's influence here I wonder if its telling you to reconcile your drive to do things in the here and now, in the moment and your need to reflect and engage in more spiritual things of which instead outside of the linear, material, routine world.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's interesting as you relate the yod to a spiritual nature. I've been contemplating this recently as the yod is asking for an adjustment to be made and I think the adjustment can be satisfied with insight into spirituality. Maybe this is just the way I see my yods (or one in particular [it's hard sometimes to distinguish them]).

In looking for something on a Sun apex yod I found this thought provoking write up:
http://www.panix.com/~gsk/yod2.html
Here, the author states that the energy created by the yod has to have an outlet. I think that's why you feel restless and confused at this time. You are essentially seeking an outlet to this new strange energy that has emerged. I think that's why the yod can be such a powerful structure in a chart. It does provide "the search" which can lead to profound insight and powerful accomplishment for the native.

Thanks StillOne. To me, yes, yods are very spiritual. A quincunx is an interesting aspect in that it does require introspection. From: http://www.drstandley.com/astrologycharts_aspects_quincunx.shtml

"A quincunx is thought to be one of the most difficult aspects [...] because it will not allow for retreat. There's no backing down [with this] aspect because you can't just think your way out of it, you have to take action on those thoughts. The quincunx [challenges] you to trust your [...] intuition. Intuition is a very big deal [...]. [It] means the "Finger of God." Couple the intuition with the "yod" and you have a blast of intuition coming through to your "I AM" presence. [...] your inner voice, [...] God speaking to you and through you."

I have heard that that the apex of the yod, I guess the point of the finger, is the most important. In this case, its the Sun. So Flowergirl this outlet (which I got from the cool site StillOne provided) for integration, action, and intention, is focused on your Sun.

I guess then also StillOne and I are in agreement that this temporary yod is valid, and I would say its equally important to note that Saturn, which is making this Yod, is retrograding at a sensitive point for you.

The energies involved are Pisces, Leo, and Libra. The Mars Leo and the Saturn Libra are forming a sextile, which means, if anything, those energies are in harmony with each other. Pointing at your Sun they may be impelling you to do something with their new-found connection. StillOne said it could be giving you insight into your path or destiny, but it could also be also simple, and material, given that its the Sun in the first house, and both Mars and Saturn are naturally given to wanting to produce results of some kind. Saturn natally opposes your Sun and squares your MC, whereas Mars, your drive, built from the Sun's energy, is trine your MC.

To me there seems to be a profound association with how you see yourself in relationship to others, and a feeling of worthiness. I might imagine people try to take advantage of you very easily (Pisces Sun square Neptune and MC), and this frustrates you as you have quite a lot of self worth/sense of being cool (Sun trine Uranus) and Mars in Leo quincunx, but you also feel limited in how you can express this frustration/hurt/feeling ignored (the Saturn opposition), unless you express your Sun-Uranus a very certain way, and being water signs, I might imagine it by being a good friend and providing emotional support, but getting little in return, and also feeling like you have to sacrifice for all (Saturn rules 11th house) I might say its a time on focusing on getting your needs met (Mars-Leo-6th house). Saturn is supporting this, but it will take time, especially because of the Saturn retro, and it being Saturn, for you to build this sense of self worth. This is a very modern interp.

A more trad interp might be suggesting this is time to deal with people who limit their resources to you (Saturn in Libra in 8th), and to accept that you will have to do much for yourself (Mars in Leo in 6th). It is time to think about your resources and who and what you provide for, and how you provide for yourself... Jupiter is about to move over Moon-Venus-Chiron conjunction in the Second, so its definitely a time to invest and expand your own worth and material resources.

I bet the issue here is listening to that "inner voice" and not feeling guilty for either acting "selfishly," or recognizing maybe that you can only help peopel so much... that they have to help themselves. With NN in Leo involved I can't help but feel its time to get a little more "self-involved."

I have done some meditation on the matter and found some interesting insights about needing to stop playing the victim. It is as you say QE, I've sacrificed a lot for other people and had little kindness in return. I feel the Saturn-Sun quincunx asks for me to make adjustments in this matter. Take responsibility for myself, accept that my unconditional love and self-sacrifice may not always be returned and is in many ways inappropriate. When I lay down my life for others, it is no wonder that it is so easy for them to walk all over me.

I have trouble finding my purpose and path (I thought that I'd be there by now) and I do tend to put my drive and energy into things that end up being a waste of energy and of no real value to me. Then I cry because I can't seem to find my purpose in life. This is where my focus lie at the moment. There are some spiritual passions that I gave up on long ago because I couldn't find an appropriate and safe way of expression at the time. This is perhaps the adjustment necessary between Mars-Sun. Hopefully time will reveal a way forward.

Lately I have had a renewed interest in all things Piscean. Perhaps because of Neptune's final ingress into Pisces or transit Neptune on my SN. I have been finding myself oscillating between developing spirituality (SN) and service in every day matters (NN). Not sure which one to go with, because as you say QE, they are quite different energies. I feel Neptune is dissolving a few things on my nodal axis and there are some issues there confusing me too.

But the pressure of the YOD is on the Sun in Pisces. Perhaps the issue/lesson is learning to trust my own intuition and listening to my own inner voice instead of letting Saturn (other people's opinions or self-criticism) get to me and not letting drive, drive me off in the wrong direction. Thanks for the encouragement to meditate more StillOne. I have a feeling that is the way forward.

Thank you to you both for your excellent insights. I will keep pondering on them and I am sure more will be revealed in time.

Blessings

Meditation would definitely help. Introspection, seeking that intuitive voice. The key is to act though, since the Sun, the apex, disposits Mars in Leo, of which is receiving the sextile of Saturn, and the new introduction of the YOD.

To me it points a lot at that Mars too... Mars is not a mental planet, and I would also read it in the 5th house of your chart as well as the 6th, so acting in your own best interests, and enjoying yourself, seem part of what is good for your new sense of responsibility (Saturn) to your well-being in your relationships (Saturn being in Libra), but also to yourself (Sun in first at apex, Mars disposited by Sun, 5th and 6th house).

Oh my goodness! Saturn is @ 28 degrees Libra again and the stress is back. This time I have intense pain in my heart area (for the past few days) and I have intense issues of a different pathway/destiny opening up to me. And I will be acting on it over the weekend... Oh my, I didn't realise how grateful I'd be for the advice given when I first wrote this post in Feb. Thank God for this wonderful forum and it's beautiful people!

Hey! Thanks for coming back and sharing! I love it when members remember to come back to threads they've started and share some insight or outcome.

I'm sorry to hear about your heart troubles and hope that the pressure subsides quickly for you.

I've also had intense Saturn transits recently so I can identify with what you are going thru.

Please take care!
