Hi My name is ronnie rickner
I recently turned 18 and as a present I was given a session with an astrologer/medium etc, which I have always wanted since I could remeber to be honest .

I never believed in a god as such but i feel it is more becuase of how i percieve the way christianity uses the bible and in my opinion it seems similar to a business , if you can relate to that.

Well the lady i saw was spot on with everything i knew about myself my gf family and described people like she knew them also she picked up on my grandfather who had passed away and told me about memories that we shared , there is no doubt in my mind that she was geniuine and she could not have got what she came up with from "guessing" or working out .

I have also had visions of like situations that i am going to be in from young and they always seem to be exact i never thought anything of it or spoke about it until she brought it up and told me I am "extremley intuitive" and have alot of ability . She then told me various other things about my personal life , including I will be an astrologer or medium around 24 which i was quite please about; i dont think she really wanted to tell me that part, i would like the embrace the intuition .

i am a quick learner and want to learn more about it astrology wondered if anyone knew where a good place to start is eg books , webpages or anything

thanks for any responses

Hey good luck with your journey here, Ronnie. There is plennnnnty to explore on this site. Though I am a newbie too, I can recommend books that I have read:
Any book by Linda Goodman, Alan Leo, Susan Miller.
I have heard a lot about Liz Greene & Edgar Cayce but haven't read.
Happy exploring!
Best wishes

Amongst other things, astrology is a wonderful tool for understanding yourself and others better.....enabling us to make better choices in life as we become aware of how our behaviour influences what happens to us through the law of cause and effect. Astrology does not reliably predict the future.......But it can provide an excellent insight into the psychological make-up of people, enabling us to accurately predict their behaviour and it's resultant effects

If you intend to learn about astrology, you will need to begin with a natal chart, it need not necessarily be your own, but many choose to begin this way, in an effort to better understand their own life journey, and purpose. Astrological natal charts are as individual as a persons ‘fingerprints’ depending on where (latitude & longitude) and time of birth. It is important to get your *time of your birth* as this is the most important information.

Here are my personal recommend beginners links to focus upon Natal charts:-
I hope that you come here and want to learn about astrology and join in with exchanges. There ever expanding Education forum here and lots more to explore. http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12556 http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/TOClessons.htm

House systems
Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'

Hi Ronnie,

I'm a new to astrology too. Welcome. My favorite site is astrotheme.com. It's extremely newbie friendly. The best part is the interactive natal chart (click natal chart and ascendant on the left). When you generate your chart, click each planet and it will tell you what sign it's in and a brief description of what that means, what house, and all the aspects it makes to other planets. Don't use that chart on this forum though, because real astrologers don't use it. It's good for learning purposes. The main page also has info on everything astro for those just starting out. I also learn something new every time I come to this forum.
