When did In God We Trust replace E pluribus unum?

On July 30, 1956, the 84th Congress passed a joint resolution "declaring IN GOD WE TRUST the national motto of the United States." The resolution passed both the House and the Senate unanimously and without debate. It replaced E pluribus unum, which had existed before as a de facto official motto.

Here is the chart of the founding of the Church of Satan, the organization that posited the most important doctrine of the next Age (i.e. the controlling power of the universe is a Balance Factor to be utilized and not a God to be worshipped).

The world has not yet noticed this.

Unfortunately the man who founded it was a boorish carny who could not keep his own dogma intact (example: he established Lack of Aesthetics as a major sin in his religion and then went and named his newborn son Satan Xerxes Karnacki LaVey).

Peter Gilmore, with his zine The Black Flame, made a valiant effort to bring the doctrine into public consciousness. Unfortunately all he ultimately succeeded in doing was to allow Anton LaVey to publicly hang himself.

It will need to be buried and forgotten for an extended period and rediscovered and seen with clearer eyes.
