Pluto Square Venus in Asc. Any thoughts?

Hi all, was wondering if anyone can offer insights to this particular part of my chart. I have Venus in my asc (in Capricorn) square my Pluto in my 10th. Pluto is currently transiting my asc and is in conjunction with my Venus (square to my natal Pluto). My chart is attached. queeny :)

My life has recently transformed and where i have always been blocked im finding huge success and progress in life - however in my love life, I am constantly drawn and obsessed with men who I cant have. I am not a needy person but have a very high ideal about what love should feel like and Ive never found it. The frustration of never falling in love to the extent that I imagine is possible can sometimes zap my energy. Open to all suggestions about this aspect. thanks for your time!

Exactly my story and we live in the same city :)

I have no suggestions for you. I also have this nasty square and I don't know how to escape it, if possible at all. With Venus in Pluto you either tend to be possessive and/or obsessive (which I am not, usually) or attract those who are (which unfortunately I do).

Ok thanks anyway, The only option i have at this point - unless some new insight comes to light, is to block my energy from going in that direction and channeling it instead into other passions. surrendering to this strange fire that burns and cant go anywhere might transform me in ways that may have otherwise not been possible who knows :)

Venus in Capricorn rising could be like cold beauty - limits personal emotions in public. Pluto from 10th adds professional affairs also limiting personal expression.

You need to be bit relaxed and expressive for love life.

BTW, if the person you are getting drawn to is from professional life, that is not favorable to you.

wow that is actually really helpful. I tend to become drawn to people I am professionally tied in with which really complicates things and makes relationship impossible. I can see that now. Thank you for posting,

It's going to be *years off* before T Pluto gets to conjunct your natal venus. and it's going to be January 2014 before it gets to your Ascendant :rightful:

This transit can take upto 18-24months as it goes backwards and forwards.

Recently however, T Saturn has square your venus, so has a relationship/friendship ended? have you been short of money and not wanted to socialise??

venus also has a quincunx to saturn (which I also have) and this suggests that father, males and/or authority figures really won't quite understand what brings you pleasure (venus) :surprised:

Oh ok thanks for letting me know those dates. I thought Pluto had already gone into my first house...and thats supposed to trigger massive changes?? Its amazing how much i learn from every post. I havent looked at transits myself - and yes a 12 year relationship has just come to an end. It was never 100% fulfilling but it was difficult to end it because he was always so dependant on me and we have a very deep friendship. I have been definately short of money of late and while while Ive been very social this past year - lately i have felt vulnerable in public so ive gone into retreat. My father and 3 brothers have never understood my creative interests and choice of musical career (which is what gives me most pleasure in life) and this has always bothered me because they are very conventional and Im the opposite. Recently however - despite my fear of being judged by them I invited them to see my music show for the first time (which is very alternative for their tastes) and that was a big accomplishment for me. Your insights are fascinating. Thank you for posting. ive learnt a lot here. Is there anything else you can tell me about the nature of a natal Pluto/Venus square in general? And also what are your thoughts on Juno? Mine is in 11th house in Scorpio conjunct my north node and Uranus. Cheers!

Check out your recent transits. There's been a ton of stuff going on in your chart. I suggest researching the following and see what makes sense to you

- Saturn square Ascendant
- Saturn conjunct Pluto
- Uranus square Ascendant

Transiting Pluto is still in your 12th house, but is beginnning to (just marginally) touch your ASC. Pluto's actual conjunction with your ASC will not take place until Jan 2014, with a near conjunction occurring in around 2 years.

In the mean time, Pluto's passage through your 12th house will dredge up anything which you have a need to examine - past behaviours, beliefs, expectations. As transiting Saturn - your chart ruler - has also been close in transit to your natal Pluto, you have had a double whammy of `notice' about any Plutonic behaviours - especially in your relationships. Pluto can make us obsess about others, or about anything at all.

astrologer50 mentioned your Venus-Saturn inconjunct, and it is one which you need to read up about. An inconjunct brings together two planets in an awkward and almost unworkable relationship. Saturn is about duty, repsonsibility, reality, and authority, while Venus is about beauty, love, relationships, and art. The key to getting the most out of the inconjunct is to bring these two energies into balance somehow. I suspect that tr Pluto through your 12th is bringing you face-to-face with how you misuse your Pluto-Venus square. Becoming obsessive is easy; taking control of this is not.

When Pluto reaches and then passes over your ascendant you will be changed forever. It will bring more depth to you, so that you are better able to concentrate on what really matters to you, and what it is you wish to achieve.

Thank you for replying everyone. Raven your post was particularly helpful particularly the reference to misusing the venus-pluto square. My unconscious Plutonian tendencies are definately being stirred up at the moment and I am seeing them as destructive more clearly than ever. Also my my sense of duty is being challenged - choosing what's right over what's pleasurable. I can see now that Pluto is demanding i completely let go of any need to control/dominate others and I have made the decision to yield. Thanks for bringing that to my awareness. Also ive never heard of the inconjunct concept before so looking forward to checkin that out. Very educational and helpful. thank you all for your time

May I suggest you read the 'welcome to the world of astrology’ and other ---sticky' at the top of this forum? It has some great explanations, links etc. At the top of every forum there are lots of ‘stickys’ which explain matters in that forum, along with guidelines & tips

There is a 'plethora' of information on AW, espec in the 'stickys' at the top of every forum, our Education forum and Recommendations forum to. Plus we have a good search feature,[but not foolproof obviously, so try here first] bit like google using keywords – initially select advanced and try just selecting 'titles' rather than posts or you'll get too many threads. If this doesn’t get results then try google

I have that natal aspect-it can be powerful, but more often difficult-especially in the area of what is loosely termed 'karmic relationhips' (the big ones in our life). One has to learn to direct the intensity of Pluto energy/attribution off ego issues, and sq to venus, well, it's a toughie-i have venus on my asc as well-so it's a double hit.
