If you love the music of the mid to late '60's the 2019 release of "Echo In The Canyon", a documentary produced and directed by Andrew Slater, hosted by Jakob Dylan, is a must see... imho.
Michelle Phillips is prominent in the account and the reminiscing.
It's a fascinating story about the small, but well known, community enclave that exists between the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood in the Santa Monica Mountains and back-in-the-day it was a place where some of the most influential musicians of the time were living and congregating. In the '60's, Nor Cal had Marin Co. and "The City", aka San Francisco, but in So Cal, it was Laurel Canyon. I grew up about five miles from there and my dad was just exiting the music "industry" in 1964, so I know of a few of the studios and the producers mentioned in the film.
It is also includes the last known video taped interview with Tom Petty before He died.
Interviews with David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Brian Wilson, Jackson Browne, John Sebastian, Ringo Starr and Roger McGuinn, to name more than a few, are in the film.
Jakob plays a number of the classic songs of the time accompanied by various musicians that were a part of the ortininal groups that released those songs and also accompanied by a bevy of contemporary female vocalists that, I think, were perfect for the tunes played.
Regina Spektor, Cat Power, Jade Castinos [whom is so lovely and is so exuberant in her performances... wow

] to name a few.
The album produced from the soundtrack, "Echo In The Canyon", is solid, through and through.
See It, hear it and, if you're old enough, re-live it.
You youngsters likely will enjoy it too.
