Sigur Ros - Untitled 1(Vaka)
To me this song was originally about suicide, then I realized it was really about symbolic death and rebirth. To me anyway
translation of the word 'vaka' is 'to be awake' or 'to wake'

It's a beautiful song. One of my favorites. Not to be a Cancer, but it makes me cry

This particular song is one the listeners are openly invited to interpret their own way
I really love singers who create songs in their own made up language as it really gets to the root of sounds and language and meaning. That's why I love Liz Fraser

Cocteau Twins - Orange Appled live

But for liz. I think the reason she originally started singing that way was out of insecurity

A few years ago I came across a beautiful playlist on soundcloud created by Brian Batz of Sleep Party People and I'm so pissed it was taken down...
This was on it tho. The mixtape went from electronic, to avant garde, to folk, to Vashti Bunyan, to classical...It was so perfect

Quantz - II Arioso from Concerto for Flute & Orchestra in D Major

This piece of music is very special to me. Almost sacred. As a child I always had a longing for places far away, far in the past. I felt I belonged in the past somehow and this piece of music encaptures that feeling, that longing, that desire

I accidentally came across this piece of music back when people still used limewire searching for baroque music. It was completely mislabeled as Bach for some reason so for ******* years I had no idea who the real composer was and what the piece was actually called. I finally found out by inquiring on a forum dedicated to music asking if anyone knew what the piece was

Also, if anyone's interested, I found the playlist tracklist

I highly recommend finding those songs. Listening to them as a playlist is an experience
