Panic Attacks.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why I've been having mini panic attacks all day.. and smaller ones earlier in the weeks.

I was wondering if it might say in my natal.. or if the planets now are affecting my chart.

This is my first time asking a question on here with my chart.. so I'm not 100% sure how to go about doing it right.

here is my natal.

I don't have an extensive knowledge of astrology that can even come close to rivaling the skills of the people in this community, but I can tell you that you're not alone. I have a bad panic disorder that has recently calmed down...and they suck, those panic attacks. I do notice a similarity in our charts, though.

You have Capricorn as Sun, Gemini as your Ascendant, and an Aquarius Moon. (Earth, Air, Air)
I have Libra as Sun, Libra as my Ascendant, and a Taurus Moon.
(Air, Air, Earth)

I have no idea if that as anything to do with it, but it's a weird coincidence.

I have three friends who have panic attacks. Each one of them has Mercury conjuncting/squaring Uranus AND Saturn, and so do you. I think this has something to do with it.

Pluto has also just retrograded to conjunct your Descendant and oppose your Ascendant. Plus, the solar eclipse today.

That might have somthing to do with it.

My Mercury squares Uranus, too. Nothing with Saturn as far as I can see, though.

That's weird. 3 people with panic attacks and all of them have Mercury squared with Uranus.

Hi,

Uranus is nervous energy and also known for sudden disruptions, and this aspecting either Mercury (thinking, mental well-being), or Moon (emotional well-being) stimulates, in fact could even hyper-stimulate sometimes mental activity/ emotions/feelings. Most people faced with panic attacks, or nervousness seem to carry this/these aspect(s) more often than not in their charts. Meditation/ Yoga is known to help, if I may suggest.

Keeping the above in mind:

Ivy, you have Uranus opposing your Moon, and aspecting your Mercury in a sextile (not in a square).

Isis, you have Uranus conjunct your Sun (being, personality) and Mercury (communication, even thinking) making you somewhat a nervous person by nature. This is heightened a bit by the placement of Moon (emotions) in Aquarius (naturally ruled by Uranus in mod. astrology). People with Aquarian Mer/Moon are, metaphorically speaking, said to live in their minds. The 1st Aug eclipse in Leo fell on your third house (thinking..) and was in opposition to your natal Moon, which might have aggravated this problem of panic attacks temporarily, but this will get better with the fading away of the eclipse now.

Hope this clarifies things a bit,

:)aquarius7000

Exactly and also stationed within minutes of your Sun earlier this year. So you right in the middle of a Pluto cycle which will last until about Jan 09
Pluto would have stationed your Sun (& Mercury) between Feb and April within an orb for it to be super strong but you will feel the transit for the whole period of the cycle. It does not always manifest exactly on the exact day or week of the exact aspect. My gran died when Pluto had Moved off retrograding my Moon which is 0:30 degrees Libra. The whole cycle all started in Feb when my grandparents left their family home to go to an aged care complex.
I actually experianced anxiety attacks in Feb but with sought some lifestyle conselling and got herbal support from my naturopath (& had to make some big lifestyle changes).
When Pluto transits a luminary the energy is very strong but at the same time we have enormous resouces at our disposal to make permanent change in areas of our life (for the better for us)
All the best too

Makes totally sense. I never thought about all the aquarius in my chart. I always that it was mainly the Gemini rising that made me nervous. I thought the panicing might have been because of the eclipse. Though during the actual day of the eclipse, I was fine.. it was just the day before that was really tough.

I think another thing that could have been setting them off... was that my grandma had a mini stroke (she is a leo) and had to go to hospital the same day of the attacks.. So I figured that could've of been part of it as well.. I normally get attacks when something is happening to someone close to me, and I don't know about it.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to look at my chart for me!

Oh! Oops! See, this is why I'm here...to learn! (blush)
I guess my chart doesn't have a reason for it.

Isis, good luck with those attacks. I used to have like, 40 a day (I spent most of high school trying to breathe and clawing at my chest); my advice to you is to distract yourself with something tedious, like knitting or cross stitch. And remember to not hyperventilate by breathing too fast; try to breathe from your stomach/diaphram. Hope you get better!

Panic attacks in general means unresolved issues around death. I would suggest consulting a specialist since these problems tend to aggravate with time.

Zona967, I have noticed exactly the same thing. With every person I know who has had panic attacks, they are totally scared of death. Maybe it has something to do with over all feeling unworthy and not-succeeded enough and then it leads to being scared of death, cause then they would not have anymore time to make it right. Also like not living with whole heart could be one reason, cause then you would have never really lived if you died.

Panic attacks hold so much information about the person and they are just the top of the ice berg...

But well, as I said, saturn conjuncting mercury is one sign that I have noticed and saturn is all about fear...

It's more about unresolved issues over someone else's death. Especially if it is accidental. All human beings (and in general living things) have an existential fear of death. But for those folks with the unexpected death it gets worse. Breathing problems are also commonplace. With respect to chakras, the fourth (green) chakra may be experiencing a blockage. It is in general responsible for the emotions, heart rate and breathing. So you see how blockage of emotions can result in problems with heart rate and breathing much like in a panic attack. Psychotherapy may be focused around unblocking those buried emotions and reexperiencing them in a safe environment. With emotions getting treated, the heart and breathing problems and thus the panic attacks get alleviated.

As an example, I accidentally lost a very close relative of mine. A few months later on several occasions I was having troubles catching my breath. On one of those occasions I was travelling on a bus, thankfully seated, but nevertheless felt I was going to pass out. I gasped for air but it didn't seem to get better (it's not that one is not getting enough air, it's just that the heart chakra is blocking it). I was beginning to panic even more. And then remembered this chakra thing and something of a last resort thought "Ok, ok, I feel betrayed, I feel abandoned and lost." Believe it or not, I could finally catch my breath.

Another sign is when I get angry at something which I perceive to be unfair (impolite staff at shops, being unfairly accused of something; also feeling helpless), I get an accelerated heart rate (I never had this in my life, so it's not blood pressure problems). I feel I will lose control any minute and collapse on the floor. Recently, it occurred to me that this might again be blocked anger at being treated "unfairly". Like saying "it's not fair, you can't leave me alone here" to my relative. So whenever I get even the slightest notion of "unfairness" I overreact significantly.

So in general, the moral is to not block your emotions, to try and channel them in some way: could be through writing about the event, talking about it or whatever you see fit. And of course, this applies not only to death, but to whatever it is that bugs you. :)

after my good friends father had a heart attack, she started getting bad panick attacks that landed her in the hospital (natally she has merc conjunct uranus, merc conjunct saturn, all on her ascendent.)

WEll. I know for a fact that Uranus (erratic, unexpected) is at 22 degress pisces which is trining your natal mars on the cusp of the sixth house. Also, Saturn would also be crossing your IC and coming to contact that same area (constriction ) Jupiter (expansion) is around 13 degress cap. so look where it hits too and then you have Pluto very much hitting you on sixth then the sun etc....hello.....major....I have a suspicion you may need to do that chakra stuff....it helps me calm down too just to think about it:)

Hello, Isis.

My first post on this forum, but when I hear 'panic attack' I immediately think Saturn-Neptune. You have your Capricorn Sun, and to a lesser extent your Mercury, conjunct the Saturn-Neptune midpoint.

Saturn and Neptune can be a difficult energy - trying to nail something down that by definition can't be defined!

I haven't looked at what might be going on right this minutre, but earlier in the year Pluto was close to your Saturn-Neptune midpoint - indeed it was close to a conjunction with your Sun. Soon Pluto will return to this position.

So, if you want to understand your panic attacks it MIGHT be a good idea to look at your Saturn-Neptune midpoint, and the fact that you've got the Sun and Mercury here.

Given the fact that you've got the Sun so close to your Descendant, you should, in my opinion, consider the impact that other people are having on you. Perhaps you're picking up their feelings, and their insecurities? And while your panic attacks are going on, I would suggest that you give youself a secure environment, and that you surround yourself with secure and uncomplicated people.

To take things a step further, the Moon, via a 45 degree aspect, is also connected - it's 45 degrees from the Saturn-Neptune midpoint, and we have the following 45 degree midpoint tree:

SO/AS=MO=ME/AS=MA/PL=SA/NE=SO=SO/ME=ME

So your wide Mars-Pluto conjunction is being brought in, which is of course square to your Moon.

I don't know how popular midpoints are at the moment, but I think they do need to be considered.

Wow! Thank you everyone. The one I most relate to is what elnu said about other people's feelings.. thats when I normally get them.. it always has to do with something happening to someone else.. than I'll start to get attacks.. and I don't even have to know something is going on with a person close to me... it can be across the country and I'll still pick up on stuff.. I don't normally find out until later on.

Isis, you mention that you've been having these attacks, but is there a precise date in which it started to happen?

I ask because with my (small) experience with panic attacks (I had some friends who had it), I always found that there was something going on between Pluto and Saturn. One of my friends had Saturn transiting her 6th square her natal Pluto in the 8th a couple of years ago, and she had a series of panic attacks that ended when Saturn broke free from the square. I saw another person's chart here in this message board with the identical configuration last year, and she was experiencing the same problem.

Now, yesterday a friend of mine asked me to help with her problem, to see if I can find something in her chart that explains why she is getting these attacks (she is also suffering from insomnia and severe depression, controlled by meds). To my grief, I found that her natal Saturn is being opposed by Pluto in transit, both squaring her natal Sun in Libra... which is a very heavy and long transit... I will write another post about it later, I'm very worried about her.

I saw your chart, and transiting Pluto is walking away from the conjunction with your natal Saturn. The height of the transit was in 2006, so i feel the need to ask of you if you had these attacks that year as well, or if they come and go since then. I am really interested in finding the "panic" aspects in natal charts: this problem is more common than we imagine, and it seems every now and then I am met with a similar case.:(
