On & Off Astrology Lass 50+ years ~ Looking for good discussions

Hi all! Many moons in and out of love with astrology. I've had hideous readings & magical readings. Not so great teachers & fantastic teachers. Sailed with the muses, sometimes at odds with the muses. Play Irish mandolin to balance muse drama.
Kind of a refugee from both humanistic & hardcore traditional astrology, but use trad rulerships peppered with modern influences. Not team Vedic. Respect the precessions, but stick with the tropical seasons.
My long time face to face teacher until his death was Robert Blaschke. We agreed on nothing socially or politically, but he was the best teacher I ever had. We had some fun times in class with our non astrology disagreements.
Team Rick Levine now.
Looking for good discussions ... and a good mundane astrologer to help with what I see as a knarly Uranus cycle breaking out socially & politically.

Robert B was amazing. I saw him lecture on progressions at a Astro Convention many many years ago. He was really clear and expressive and you were lucky to have him as a long time teacher.

I had that same experience with Marion March as my face to face long time mentor. She brought my woo-woo, fantasy type astrology down to earth, forcing us to be grounded, relevant and fact based when interpreting charts for our clients.

A good teacher makes all the difference in the world!

You might want to check out my analysis of Marie Antoinette's transition, and see if that's the kind of conversation you're interested in.

Yes, he was amazing. One takeaway I have is he emphasized astrologers to be compassionate. He reminded us that sometimes folks seek an astrologer as their last ditch effort ... be kind ... I never forgot that. Robert's secondary progression teachings were life changing for me.
Never heard of Marion March, but she sounds like someone to explore.

Hey Bambi! Why you're 17 years here but you have only 6 posts?

Wow! Had no idea I was even a member until I went to join and saw my account. Hope this post isn't TMI.
Basically, my life fell apart. Was on my way to being in a wheelchair & had a job from hell. Online astrology participation felt unhealthy so I moved on to studying Irish music: playing in sessions at the pub. Continued to study astrology & read charts for family & friends only.

Because my beloved Portland has become too dangerous for me & my wheelchair to play music at the Irish pub, I don't play much music anymore and am back to astrology: muses are muses.

What's calling me back to social media is Rick Levine. Culturally & age wise, he's almost my twin. After living on the rez (Indian reservation) part time &, I've developed zero tolerance for male dominated (know it all) astrology/religous/philosophical preaching. The longer I lived on the rez, the more Irish I became (it's an ancestor thing). So I now have a social media shillelagh & know how to use it now.

I don't care if you're a buddhist, christian, islamist, jewish, wiccan whatever ... if it's sacred to you ... keep it to yourself. Dragging it out and waving it around tells me you don't respect your religion or yourself. My skin crawls with a non East Indian says namaste to me on first greeting. It feels like passive aggression (I'm in this cool club & if you don't know the word ... you're not one of us).

So basically, I'm old & sometimes impatient & intolerant ... but will go out of my way to be kind to anybody in need or pain.
Mars/Mercury conjunct in Aires here. Blaschke used to say I shoot from the lip.:) Miss him.
