I dreamt that I was having sex and then I stop moving and my partner just stops after realising I wasn't moving anymore. He flips me on my back and he's like doing CPR on me. Why did I have this dream and what does it mean?

Dreams about sex are ruled by 7th house, because 7th house is 12th house from the 8th house (and also 8th house from 12th house), and the dream chart has 7H ruler applying to the 1H ruler (1H ruler is the ruler of you in the dream chart), and this dream has Chiron conj. ASC and Mercury conj. MC, both partile, and also a partile Moon-Uranus conjunction in Taurus too, so it has a spiritual meaning for you. The spiritual meaning is also expressed by Venus quintile Moon and Uranus, both partile too, so you have this dream because you had experienced something bad and you felt really sad and painful about it, and also you have a war inside your mind because the dream chart has Chiron conjunct AC exact and Mercury conjunct MC exact, and both squares each other, so it denotes a lot of conflict betwen your career life and love life, and also spiritual life too

How is your sleep generally?
Mercury on Midheaven may suggest work issues keep your mind churning, and they are training that exact Moon/Uranus conjunction.

Possibly it might be a good idea to rule out possible health issues such as sleep apnea, where in fact there are pauses in breathing. Perhaps in your dream you were concentrating on something else!

Asking questions like how you felt about the attempts of your partner to resuscitate you rather than carry on with what he had be doing, might sed more light on the subject.

These are trines we are talking about here, but Moon/Uranus to Mercury/Midheaven may still be somewhat reactive to stress in the workplace

I don't work but I've been very anxious about school and having nightmares lately not knowing why when he was rescuiting me I felt scared. I have been also anxious about the fact I have money problems and haven't worked in over a decade. Also thank you both for replying.

It did sound like a stress thing somehow.

As far as money and work matters go, Jupiter sometimes can exacerbate things. As it has just transited your Moon/Uranus and trined that Mercury/MC, and September is on its way though, maybe this could still be a good time to put out feelers?

Mercury on the MC implies some duality as far as work goes, not geting tied down to one particular thing, and Jupiter in the 12th in Aries has a restless feel too.

Traditionally the 9th house is the house of dreams, visions, inspired thoughts, divination, astrology, mysticism, philosophy, beliefs; the desire to unite with something greater than oneself. The ruler of the 9th in your dream chart is Jupiter in the 12th house traditionally associated with sad events, sorrow, anguish of mind, tribulation, captivity, imprisonment, persecution, hard labour, all manner of affliction and self-undoing. And Jupiter is void of course, makes no aspects to other planets in the chart. I think this dream is a reflection of the unease that you are feeling in your life, feeling like you don't want to move anymore, needing and also receiving resuscitation.
I take Jup being VOC suggesting that nothing, ill or otherwise, will come from this dream. That it is coming to you to just remind you of how you are feeling. With you and the question both signified by the Moon, the Moon is in exaltation as so this suggests that in all of this, in your core, you are really doing okay. With your signifier as Mars in the 3rd, it makes me wonder if it might not be useful for you to talk about what is and has been going on in your life with someone trusted, just to share it?

Hi,
Is this comment based upon the teachings within traditional astrology concepts only?

In the early years of studying astrology through the English F.A.S I queried the difference between the 9th and 12th houses 'visions'. Paraphrasing, my mentor explained that the 9th house represents the foresight of the visions of which one believes can become a reality in life. The 12th house repesented the visions of an non-Earthly quality; the fantasies arising from the sub-or unconscious, of which dreams are made. ( She was a Sag. Sun who specialised in the course of Neptune throughout history. She expressed the opinion that I was not avant-garde in my approach towards astro. symbology, 'only wanting to read charts' ;)). Must have been my Sun in 9th square Jupiter in 12th!

Over the years I have found her thoughts re: the differences to ring true. The 9th house is associated with the power of reason to give meaning to life. Yet because trad. astrology does not recognise the influence of the outer planets, Jupiter's rulership over Sagfittarius and Pisces can find an association with both the 9th and 12th houses. In the chart shown, could this not mean that ruler 9th in 12th house could mean there is 'no reality' experience in a dream that expresses Arian intimacy ... Mars lust in conflict with (square) the sacrifical/ surrender to the 'platonic' (11th house) love of a Venus in Pisces. The dream lover did not awaken any meaning for the dreamer.

7 months after original post one might wonder whether, if he was a real person, the dream lover is still a part of poster's life.

Jupiter is well within orb of a sextile aspect to Sun, isn't it?

Modern astrology would give Sun, ruler 5th house, semi-square Neptune, ruler 12th house, some consideration .... i.e. life was but a dream.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. They give me much to think about.:):)
I am not sure what the source of the querent's dream was, more of this world or more other-worldly. And I like your interpretation
ruler 9th in 12th house could mean there is 'no reality' experience in a dream that expresses Arian intimacy ... Mars lust in conflict with (square) the sacrifical/ surrender to the 'platonic' (11th house) love of a Venus in Pisces. The dream lover did not awaken any meaning for the dreamer.

I base my interpretation on the traditional house meanings and my own experience with strong 9th and 12th house influences, like yourself, with my Sun in the 9th square Moon Mars Saturn Pluto. And from a more modern viewpoint, I tend to see the 12th house dream influences to come from the collective or genetic, with the 9th dream content being more personal. So the 12th is not so much other worldly than of this world collectively or from our past, either individually or collectively. So still of this world, just not necessarily of this time? And I am not asserting that this is correct, only that it is what I have come to believe may be so.

And so with that in hand, I just tried, in a sense, to dream a dream of the chart's delineation. :)

Regarding my comment about Jupiter's being void of course, I take voc to mean that Jup does apply to aspect with any other planet before leaving the sign it is in. Jup does not apply to aspect Sun.
Maybe I am not understanding VOC correctly?

Perhaps it simply to telling you in symbols and puns (the part about CPR) you are aware within yourself, you aren't fully there, feeling (so to speak, and a "pun" i.e. (half-dead) because of the stress of the job searches, schooling, etc. and just not yourself lately. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

note: good to search for puns in our dreams.

Hi again Ilene,
The cursor on my computer is playing up, whereby the use of the quote function doesn't stay put, or it moves transcripts elsewhere!:andy::mad:
A case of tr. Mercury retrograde to my Sun?
Thanks for your explanation re: how you work with configurations with a 9th house and 12th house interpreations, that reflect those of the schools of thought through which I also learned.

I looked up VOC planets on the web as I had never heard of the possibility, other than that of the VOC Moon. Although there were explanations of what VOC means, there was little in the first 5 web pages that covered other planets.

When you say that Jupiter does not apply to Sun, do you mean within the day/night covering the event?
Or do you treat the chart similar to an horary? The max 6 degree rule between Sun sextile another planet does not apply (no pun intended) because Sun is the faster planet and in a further degree than Jupiter in the chart.
Jupiter's motion cannot be considered because its daily motion is too slow to reach Sun to give any meaning between them an immediate (even in Aries!) effect ?

Just curious.

You are welcome.
Though I am not scholarly enough to be able to cite a source, my understanding is that void of course is more generic, may refer to any body, not just the Moon. And it points to the lack of connection [no more applying aspects] between that body and other bodies in the chart.

Yes, I am employing the rules of horary to reply to OP's question "What does this dream mean?" and allowing some creativity since it is a dream interpretation and not a awaking reality question.
So in the case of Sun/Jup, Sun's application to/influence on Jup has passed. I do agree that the aspect is still in orb, yet I see Sun off and connected with Mars.
