My first look at an SR chart

Hi all,

I recently started studying Solar Returns & found some startling stuff in this year's (2008-9) chart.

I can't give much of an interpretation, but if you see things, just a few brief thoughts would be helpful..

All the inner planets, from Sun-Mars are not in aspect to each other!! Has anyone ever seen this before??

Sun is completely unaspected except for weak square to Chiron.:bandit:

Info I found on Web: these people may have a poor sense of self-identity, but may appear to be very egotistical.

This is so true. I don't know what has happened to me this year.

Pluto is unaspected except for weak semi-sextile? to Moon.:alien:

Pluto unaspected: these people may find it difficult to harness emotional energy, and may seek emotional commitment and confrontation.

Definitely.

Saturn conjunct MC, Uranus conjunct IC, All the planets in the left hemisphere, Moon & Pluto at critical degrees in Sagittarius.. It just all seems like madness!!

I'm really not sure how to interpret this. Would being unaspected, & in an SR chart, make me focus on their individual energies more? For example, the Sun unaspected, I lose my identity, feel like I don't know myself, which is why THIS YEAR I've been constantly confused.. Pluto unaspected, really don't know how to approach this one..

This has been a strange year & I think this chart is really strange, too.

Hello Kaminari, have you followed these steps?

How to interprete a Solar Return Chart.

Hey thnks Starlink, I'll check it out. I studied SR through Cafe Astrology.

My main question is about the unaspected planets.. I've never seen so many in a chart & the info I get from the web is conflicting. I'm wondering if an experienced astrologer can interpret this.. I've been living out this nightmare since last year & wonder how much is due to this strange anomoly?!

It's important to read SR charts alongside natal, cos it's the natal house in which the SR falls that will be 'brought forth' for the 12th months, plus we need to see if any natal planets conj any Angles or SR planets. I personally don't read SR as stand alones

The chart you mention has an unaspected sun only and that is Square Asc which gives it an outlet. Moon has square to Neptune and mercury has aspects. Unfortunatley, there is not short cut or quick fix other than study, research and more practise. It is however, a useful exercise to look back over past years to see how the SR chart pan out.

The house in which the Sun falls in the SR chart is the birthday month's forecast and influence, and each house after is the following month, since the Sun transits at the rate of one sign or house per month. Each house is treated as events in that month, and the sign and planet ruling the cusp influences the outlook for that month. The chart is used like a clock, with 12 months on its face instead of 12 hours. As the Sun conjoins or aspects other planets in the SR, it will generate events
