Yes I know, DO NOT buy a new car (or just about anything) when merc is retro.

I do not know where it came from, this past month there´s just so many new things and thoughts coming into my life. I just wanna go with the flow, after many years of boredom. So I find this car and house I´ve always wanted. The house deal can probably wait until merc goes forth. But the car....

Anybody out there who bought a car during mercury retrograde

I got my second car, which was a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with the Quad 4 engine, during a Mercury Retrograde in March 2000.

I got that car because I had wrecked my other one. This car gave a lot of trouble. The person we bought it from claimed that the engine and transmission had been rebuilt. When I first got it, it seemingly had no problems. It ran smoothly. Around a month and a half later, it started to have a problem where it would get to cutting off randomly while driving down the road. Basically, the car would be running great. Then, suddenly, it would just cut off. Sometimes, it would start back up, and sometimes, it wouldn't. We would take it to a shop, and they would find something wrong and fix it. We'd think that it would fix the problem, but not long afterward, the car would do the same thing again.

One time when we took it to the shop, they replaced spark plug wires and the plugs themselves. However, a day after I got it back, I had to get it towed to the dealership since it cut off on me while pulling off at a gas station, and it wouldn't start back up. Even they didn't fix it.

Overall, we dumped like 2000 bucks into that car trying to fix it to no avail. We later sold it to my cousin as is for couple hundred bucks.

We ended up getting me an '83 Cressida for several bucks. This time, Mercury wasn't retrograde from what I recall. This car was fairly dependable considering that it was salvaged and what we paid for it. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep it due to failure to get a title (due to salvage status).

Right as we got rid of it, I got a '91 Plymouth Sundance RS. Mercury wasn't retrograde either when I got it. The car was reliable overall, and I kept it for 6.5 years.

Also, we have a '99 Chrysler Concorde with the 2.7 liter V6 engine. We got it in December 2004. Mercury wasn't retrograde. However, it was 5 days after it had gone direct, so it was still in the shadow phase. Although these particular engines are known to frequently fail due to oiling problems, ours is still running ok with about 161000 miles on it. We haven't had too many problems with the car except some A/C problems; one about a month after getting it, another one around 2 years later, and one recently. The car had around 65000 miles on it when we got it.

So, in my experience, do not buy a car during a Mercury Retrograde. Even during the shadow phase, some minor issues are possible.

Why would you prevent yourself from buying a car if you need it? If you were born on a Mercury Rx then you have a green light to purchase it, no? If you must do it then do it I say.

However, I did it years ago since my car sold so fast I had to get a new one right away. I picked it up Mer Rx and drove out and before I hit the street from the dealer's driveway, the dashboard lights all went out. :w00t: After that it was one thing after another constantly, including a huge accident, for the entire time I owned that car! It was truly a new car owner's nightmare. But I was young and stupid and didn't force the dealer to give me a new one and not a lemon!

I don't see a Mercury retrograde as being a time that you should not ever buy a car. Rather, I see it as being a time that it is much more likely that you will get one with problems - a much higher than usual chance. So, if I were in your shoes, and really liked this car, I would pray for Divine Guidance, and ask that if for any reason I should not get this car, I would be blocked from getting it in some way. Prayers like that have worked very well for me in the past, saved me from more than one mistake when I thought everything looked good to me.

Re: mercury retro and medical procedures?!?

What do you guys think of Mercury retro and minor, pre-scheduled medical procedures?
I avoid buying things, travel, etc. but havent found much on something of this sort being a problem.
Thanks.

I've been thinking about buying a new vehicle soon, and I was going to borrow some money from family to do it (Mercury-Libra), but maybe I'll just wait. Some people actually prosper under a retro Mercury, especially if Mercury is retrograde but otherwise well-aspected in their birth charts.

I´m not born with merc retro. Suddenly this urge to buy a new car and a new computer aswell came up.

When it comes to the car I might do as Freedomlover thinks or wait. But the computer can definitely wait three weeks!

I think its funny cause I´m a person who never buys electronic devices or cars. I´ve just bought one car in my whole life and it was 15 years ago. Otherwise I got old cars from my mum or borrowed from my man. For some months I´ve been considering a car of my own - and now this!

Electronic stuff I just do not need privately so I never had to consider the right time to buy.

I'm bringing this back since I'm about to buy a new car.The latest I can delay it is till the beginning of August.I already know what car I want,I visited companies etc.The problem is,it's going to take at least 20 days for it to cbe ready after I order it.
So my question is,should I order it now, before mercury goes retrograde, and risk taking it while Mercury is retrograde,or should I order it while mercury is retrograde,to take it when mercury goes direct?
