No you’re right. I noticed after I had posted that I had proposed rather than a revering of Lilith an exultation of Eve. I really meant something - danker, much danker than what I ended up writing. Funny how that works, how strong the repressive and sublimating instinct is.
Naturally celebrations of Lilith would have more to do with ancient festivals of sexuality, of which not a lot has been verbally transmitted.
Vaguely on a tangential note to what was earlier discussed, it was said that Alcibiades was arrested and jailed for “possession and distribution of the Eleusian Mysteries”.
Yeah it does just show how far society is away from accepting Lilith. Women included in the non acceptance.
I guess an emergence of it can be seen in the popularity of Jungian psychology, which is popular in the spiritual circles on the internet - the idea of the scapegoat becoming the one to ‘break the chains of ancestral trauma,’ which is very Lilith.
Or maybe by nature, Lilith can never be a visible queen. She works in the quiet of the darkness like Pluto. I’m sure she doesn’t mind not being accepted and helps others to accept that too
But yep, it seems impossible to conjure up an image where Lilith is at the forefront and would be interesting to try and imagine it.
