First of all, conjunctions in themselves are neutral, neither good nor bad (although they are powerful). They are not afflictions, even if they are with planets some consider difficult.
Do not be defeatist, or succumb to what some doom & gloom (amateur) astrologer might tell you.
The best course of action, always, in dealing with any configuration, is to concentrate one's mind on the positive dimension of the planet in question and keep that image and thought in their mind. And that is regardless of what kinds of angles the planet is making in either the birth or progressed (or transiting, or Solar or Lunar return, etc etc) chart. Saturn, for example, has a positive side, even if it may not be all fun & games. It does not have to be all defeat and disaster. One can cooperate with what any planet is putting out and get the best possible effect out of it.
To make an example from this chart, Uranus can be associated with sudden changes, reversals, non-conformity, rebellion, nervousness, and erratic behavior. But it can also bring innovation, idealism, new ideas, the avant garde, even genius. To the extent one can tune into the positive characteristics of a planet, one can avoid the worst side of it and get some benefit even from hard aspects.
Some call this process alchemy.
In this way the native can change their experience of the horoscope.
