Best Poison Ivy Video Identification Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmhCPfSwEIM

Running into Poison Ivy while hiking is....not going to end well. Hell, it exists even in urban areas, just look at the leaf veins to identify.

Another note: If you have a home surrounded by the darn things, Goats make fantastic Poison Ivy removers. They eat the stuff without any negative effects to their systems.

I don't think it needs to be said, but in case it does: learning to not "feel" everything and realize a lot is out of our control can bring calm to a worrisome mind. And when we're calm, we make the best decisions.

EASIEST WAY to PURIFY WATER
Here is the easiest way to purify water in an emergency.
There are several ways to purify water.
You could use bleach or boil your water

but in my opinion, the easiest way is to use a filter.

This Katadyn filter will filter 150,000 Liters of water.

That would work out to 1 gallon a day for over 100 years

Trade items.

Should you ever find yourself or your family in a SHTF scenario, it's more than likely that piece of worthless paper called Fiat Currency, will be worthless to anyone around you. So, you'll want trade items. I'll make a general list here,

- Batteries
- Over the counter pills like Ibuprofen
- Gold and Silver coins
- Candles (if power runs out.)
- Ammo (if you can spare some)
- Cooking spices
- Toothbrushes and Toothpaste (oral care items in general)
- Gasoline
- Cooking Oils
- Soap (hand and body soap)

There's certainly more, but you should get the gist of it now. Trade items are important since they hold value to people who might have things you need.

If you live in a country where you have to jump through 1,000 hoops to own f!rearms and want to ensure your safety when sh*t hits the fan more than it already has, say no more…

Learn to build a bow with minimal materials (axe, string, knife).
You’ll need to learn how to chop down a tree with an axe first. Before buying an axe, know it’s important to have the right kind of axe. E.g., don’t try cutting down a tree with a splitting axe… Instead, use a feller (felling) axe.
Differences can be found here: https://burlybeaver.com/maul-vs-axe/

Then, carve yourself a beautiful bow (best done with a carving knife).

Don’t forget the bow string: https://www.60xcustomstrings.com/blog/bow-string-material-guide/

Oh, arrows too: https://youtu.be/yvlUSJVkqaw

You can also go the route of buying a bow, but I’d suggest learning how to build one first before buying one (just in case you’re in need of f!rearms for self-defense, but don’t have any, etc.).

I imagine that if sh*t reeeeeeeally hit the fan, desperation could lead to looters extending their looting beyond big chain stores, etc. - or attempting to, however not if you’ve got yourself a nifty bow.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come down to this. It’s better to be prepared though.

May the odds be ever in our favour!

WHILE PREPPING

There are some people who are happy and do not have any problems.
Everything goes as it should and they are happy, healthy, and joyful.

But what happens to us when we become happy, healthy, and joyful?
Often our thinking gets confused.
As it is said, external phenomena are too bright
and our internal mind is not bright enough.
As a result of this, we forget to think about our ultimate purposes
and forget to practice the Dharma.
But we must not forget to practice.
We need to be able to practice meditating on the nature of mind
and if we do so, our practice will go well.
This is why it is important to practice the Dharma
when things go well.
