Hello, welcome to the thread. As the title states, hard times cometh, so I figured it best to have a place here to discuss and share tips we may have. Some rules, first,

1 - No politics. If anyone starts masturbating to their political opinions in this thread, you're getting reported, so take it to one of the hundreds of other threads.

2 - No picture Memes. Yes, Mon Ami, I know you have good ones to share, but keep it in text format. That goes for us all.

3 - No discussing vaccines. At all. Keep it in the proper thread. If a video mentions it, fine, but do not bring it up in this thread.

4 - No passive-aggressive/attacks on other people. I see it, it's reported.

With that out of the way, I'll share some links,

I think basically having a plan for an apocalypse is a good idea, like having a weapon. Although if you have a knife you are more likely to become a victim of knife crime, so it’s a double-edged sword (pardon the pun).

Haha, that is true. Mainly, I just don't want people to starve. Often times, if one can bunker into their apartments and ride out a bad time, then that should be the goal.

Speaking of starving....

Peanuts are a great source of zinc and protein. Got to pick some more up later.

Yeah, sacrificing your wonderful life now, prepping for a hopeless future that you can't even prove is super good.

Oh ok, a survival food prep. Foods with Selenium help fight infection, red rice is a source.

You might enjoy the movie Greenland. It’s similar to War of the Worlds in the sense it has a Dad character who needs to redeem himself and be fined the hero by saving the family from disaster. Instead of aliens, it is an instinctive-level meteorite strike and they have to get to Greenland where there is an underground bunker.

It was pretty good actually and there is meant to be a sequel being filmed this year.

I swear I saw that movie before....or was it the 2012 one...don't remember.

On the topic of rice: Wild Rice is great just...not in taste. At least, for me it isn't.

Good thread, good links, good tules to follow.

I think it's always good to have extra food & water on hand to deal with any emergency.

Cash too.

Guns too to protect yourself & your family.

THe internet going out will be a major panic event but I don't think it will last long. All gov'ts have been prepared should a major power outage, internet blackout occur & have continguency plans.

Iff people are aware that something like this MIGHT happen, they can prepare & not be afraid.

Whatever will be will be.

Humanity will survive. I heard of a man stocking up barns with food & water for his entire small town. They think he's crazy but he wants his town to survive if something bad happens. He's quite wealthy to be able to do this.

Everything I hoard will go to my family & myself although I've told them to stocck up. Don't think they paid any attention.:biggrin::biggrin:

I would like to buy those survival food kits but money is tight right now but all those who can, should be ordering them, they can last years.

Another good idea I got from the net was to buy water purification tablets which I'm buying this week as they are pretty cheap & I'll have them in hand as they will be one item that will sell out fast.

Here'a a link to a woman I listen to regularly.

#162 STOCKING UP & PREP-STEADING ... is this the end?

materials that you can source from the wild.

works with any container
whether it be a bottle, hollow wood
or

whatever will hold water.

Good video, Mon Ami. To add to it,

Sawyer Products SP2304 Dual Threaded Mini Water Filtration System: https://www.amazon.com/Sawyer-Products-SP2304-Threaded-Filtration/dp/B07P1F13J1/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Sawyer-Mini&qid=1630835886&sr=8-4

As someone who hikes a lot, this item has kept me going when my water supplies ran out. I highly recommend it for the more urban area types who aren't used to the outdoors lifestyle.

Also, this,

Mosquito Head Mesh Nets: https://www.amazon.com/Mosquito-Repellant-Netting-Insects-Activities/dp/B07FNQPNKQ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=14ISUASNBGXQU&dchild=1&keywords=mosquito+net+hat&qid=1630836152&sprefix=Mosquito+net%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyOVFZSDVHTU5KSFVSJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTEyNDkwMUo1MFRNRzlHTFMxTSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzE5MjE1MzZDRFA5QkRGMVMxNiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Mosquitoes will be an annoyance for sure, but to understand true pain, get bit by a Deer Fly. Horse Flies can be bad too, but Deer Flies bite like no other insect I've been stung by.

Re: Hard times ahead, Survival and Prepping

If you have a backyard or a cabin in a woodsy area, chickens and ducks make great pest control. They'll eat up ticks, grasshoppers, hornets (if they can get them), so they aren't just useful for non-Vegans, but for us all.

And you don't want Lyme Disease.

That's the brand I use while hiking, but if it's too pricy,

Having at least one of these is a must.

We won't learn agriculture from a Youtube video. It's a culture, we have to experience it. But it doesn't hurt to study the basics and start out small (if possible).
