My name is Ken. I have been a student of astrology for nearly forty years and now that I have time to spare I have taken especial interest in Horary and Electional Astrology. I am currently reading Frawley's book on Horary and I watch Chris Brennan's The Astrology Podcast. For many years I was overwhelmed by the wealth of information and the varied topics in Astrology. Because I wasn't a psychologist I shied away from trying to read charts. Now I feel more comfortable in my studies and don't feel I need a psychology degree to read a chart.

Welcome to the Forum.

People with a psychology degree are a minority on astrology forums. Knowledge of astrology and life experience count for a lot.

Thanks Waybread. I think the bulk of the literature I was reading through the eighties and nineties stressed the psychological. It was only recently when I discovered the resurgence of Hellenistic Astrology that I realized I do not need to possess a working knowledge of psychology (or mythology for that matter) to appreciate an astrological chart. .

Welcome.... There are a lot of different forums to explore here.
I still find that one of the best ways to connect and share is to keep clicking on 'new posts' ---that way you get in on the ground floor and can have a real time discussion. Have fun,
Kate

Welcome, and I hope you will find at least some of what is posted here useful.

I would suggest it may not be the most prudent idea to give one's real name or physical location
on forums like this for reasons of privacy and personal safety.

Not to frighten you, but since this is the internet, advise you not to use anything resembling your real name or to geolocate yourself; in other words, as much as possible, be X from ZYX.
Please do not give out personal information. No one here has a right or need to ask you to.

Thank you for the various guidelines and the prayer. Since reactivating myself i have visited many threads, mostly in horary. I am reading a book on horary and going over the various charts and more experienced replies is a valuable aid to my study even if I do not reply to each of them. It is kind of like having a workbook. As for the use of my first name i have never in 25 years of being member on forums dealing with every thing from nuts to bolts, never had regret for using my first name. But bless you for being concerned and protective.

I was surprised by Humanitarian asking me for my insights. I am sorry he wasn't more specific. My experience in astrology doesn't come close to matching the more experienced members. But I am flattered anyhow. Peace to those of you who took the time to contribute to this re-introductory thread. I do feel blessed. I hope this Friday will be a ovely one for you.

That's great :)
neither Aria Venue nor Dirius have commented for at least two years
but you can find their horary comments by clicking search
even if the software doesn't automatically recognise
either the member name
Dirius or Aria Venue

The OP no doubt appreciates that differences of opinion are inevitable, but also that all opinions are NOT created equal.
The subtext of the statement quoted above can be read, "no one here knows anything, everyone is just spouting all their equally unfounded opinions." Which is not entirely true, for a number of different reasons.
Also not clear what "Modernistic" means.
That said
We hope you enjoy this forum, and find some worthwhile things here.

Some of our members are teens - Osamenor clarifies :)
